Yup....McCline always gets tired...i thought he said he had a bunch of nutritionist, personal fitness guru's and shit...what ever happen to them...? After a few rounds....he was spent..
It's funny cause before the fight Jim Grey asked him about the roids and he said he would answer after the fight. When the winner was announced McCline tried to get away and Jim Grey caught up to him by the ropes of the ring.:: McCline said he could understand a one point loss but not that wide scoring. he said that because he didn't finish him was the reason Peter was champion. ::
We can talk shit about Peter but that muthafuka should some heart to come back and win the fight. By the way I still think he sucks ass. I'll Holla 5000
Not bad for the world's greatest, most powerful heavyweight, ranked second at best. Chagaev beat Ruiz and Valuev consecutively but so what? Peter beat Toney in the rematch.
I remember Joe Frazier fought a guy called Ron Stander. Joe beat him on cuts but Urban Legend has it that Foremans people saw the key to beating Frazier in the way Ron fought: jab/right uppercut combos. Wlad had Peter most hurt with the left hooks, and McCline was clever enuff to note that, roid up, and do a number on Peter. http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/2149/ron-stander-still-standing-tall/ They worked on their secret weapon: a left jab/upper cut combination. George Foreman, in the Omaha audience the night of the fight, saw Stander's big idea, and would use it to crush Frazier in their fight months late http://www.timmcmahan.com/stander/stander.htm
dsimon writes: Fucking disgraceful. :flip: (directed towards Peter not Kaliber). You know what kills me Kaliber? Peter saw clear confirmation that when he trains properly he is so much better. He saw this clear as day in the Toney fights. Yet he lookd heavy and sluggish against MCcline. He obviously was not in the best of shape... whatever one thinks about him. Sure Mccline has a pretty fast punch for a heavy, but when Peter gets down in weight and takes his conditioning seriously he does not look like that! He looked like he did the first fight with Toney. Why doesn't the guy prepare for his fights? I don't get it.:dunno:
great i just saw a post fight video of peter saying he wasn't hurt...my hate for this fucking idiot cannot be described in words ::
You make it sound as if the fight turned out any different than any of McCline's previous fights of such nature. Dude has always been a 4-round fighter, with shitty stamina, and even less self-confidence.
K44, you're in the wrong thread. Which is really saying something, considering that YOU started this one. ::
dsimon writes: yeah I think so. He is an arrogant one but I really thought he learned his lesson against Toney. Not in the first fight but in the second. I don't think he is the greatest but I do think he could be a force in the division. At this rate I think Calvin Brock could beat him handily. Brock ought to make that fight to get back in the game. Brock can't touch Klitschko and he never will be able to, but Peter is there for his taking.
I'm not sure any amount of training is going to help Peter when he stands flat-footed and reaches...that won't work against many good fighters who aren't 5'9 and at the ends of their careers. He has absolutely no head movement and no defense, and he's a winger with an avoidable jab...and stamina problems. Even in the first James Toney fight, Lights Out landed a lot of clean punches that at times stopped Peter in his tracks.
Like I said in the other thread about this fight,40 seconds into the fourth round and I knew right their and then that Decline was gonna live up to his name and flat out lose that fight!! And low and behold,he did:bears:
Well, I don't know if you recall a topic regarding Peter's posing for a picture/his new nickname "the sledgehammer." It was clear to all that he wasn't training the way he should for an upcoming fight regardless of the opponent.
Peter isn't good. 10 lbs more 10 lbs less makes no difference. he looked good against Toney... GREAT... Danny Betchelder, too...
