... and he didn't deserve it. Both Byrd and Ruiz stepped on the gas pedal as the fight went on, something that McCline is utterly incapable of doing.
I'll take your word for it. I only saw a few rounds of both fights. I can't stand to watch either Byrd or Ruiz. All i remember is a lot of people thinking Golota won either 1 or both of the fights. As much as people wanted to see both Ruiz and Byrd lose, there wasn't much of an "uproar" either. Golota is the absolute best at snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
don't take his word for it. he's a fucking idiot if he think byrd deserved a decision! ruiz was close could have went either way but golota clearly outboxed byrd. even byrd's wife said so
Funny I was thinking McCline quits, fights competatively a few rounds and quits fighting the second half and loses a decision.
I didn't say that Byrd deserved a decision. I had it a draw; I covered that card for Inside Fighting. Golota simply didn't do enough in the later rounds, when it looked like Byrd was starting to get the better of him in the exchanges. But to be fair, we should compare scorecards. Please post yours, and then I'll post mine.
I rarely agree with Kaliber about Golota, but in this case I do. The 96-97 Golota beats the shit outta McCline. Right now if they fought, McCline stops him.
i had it 115-113 for Golota so i could understand a draw but no way can see Byrd winning how did you score Golota-Ruiz? i had it 114-111 for Golota :dunno: what a robbery, of course with Ruiz's holding he gets no credit either way 1 - Ruiz (10-9) 2 - Golota (10-7) 3 - Golota (10-9) 4 - Golota (10-8) 5 - Golota (10-9) 6 - Golota (10-9) 7 - Ruiz (10-9) 8 - Ruiz (10-9) 9 - Ruiz (10-9) 10 - Ruiz (10-9) 11 - Golota (10-9) 12 - Ruiz (10-9) rounds 7 and 11 could have gone the other way ________ Motor Company Philippines
I also had Golota winning both. I thught Golota-Byrd was the closer one, I can't see Ruiz as the winner
I had Golota ahead on points against both Byrd (115-113) and Ruiz (113-112), but wasn't terribly upset about either outcome. I didn't see a case where Byrd deserved to win, but the best case scenario for him was a draw, and that's what it turned out to be. For Ruiz, it could've went either way. I was more surprised that it was a unanimous decision (and by such wide margins) than the fact that Johnny won. Anyway, more germane to the topic: Primes: Golota by TKO, basically whenever he wants. McCline was always a panic attack waiting to happen, it just took for Wlad to finally convince people. He was hardly agressive against Whitaker or Briggs, neither of whom showed any interest in fighting back. Now: who knows. It's a knockout early either way, or McCline via decision in a fight that's completely unwatchable from 7-12. McCline has the better chin, so I guess McCline by decision is my pick.
