FightBeat has learned that Nate Campbell had a hearing today and was released from jail. Since the judge didn't impose any travel restrictions on Campbell, he and his management team will be heading up to Chicago ASAP to attend the Saturday, October 13th unification bout between Juan Diaz vs Julio Diaz for the WBC, WBO, IBF WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.

The word from Campbell's camp is that this whole situation has been blown out of proportion by the arresting officers. "Nate has not been officially charged with anything yet by the prosecutor's office, as they are still reviewing the allegations, and I'm confident that this will ultimately go away.

Only fightbeat would make a news story from a post on Boxrec's forum, Terry said those exact words @ boxrec and then you post it here like it's breaking shit

Was this information available anywhere else? Hmm. Was there a following up boxingscene. No. Terry is from One Punch Productions, and his manager. So if you find something that's usefull to you from a credible source you run with it. And it's not like Boxingshit information was unique either. They take it from other sources as well.

Actually I did something most other sites don't do, post links to the original story. I posted a link to the original BS story by Mark Vester.

i know it's the site's initials, but for some reason I get the sense you mean something else when referring to it as BS

Anyway, respect to you for doing that, you could've just as easily claimed the St Pete Times as the source but instead posted where you first read it. So again, much respect

    Wacko

Campbell could have evolved into a good banger and World Champion similar to like Roger Mayweather did, but he has some major screws loose.
He has suffered some brain damage IMO, that I am certain of.
Any fighter that has a guy ready to go and drops his hands and gives the guy a free shot and loses by KO is not all there, by a long shot.

Nate was in decent spirits yesterday. He obviously couldn't talk about the ongoing case, due to legal reasons, but he was his usual self (in a good way).

I think there's still some time left for Nate to make some noise at lightweight. The Hlatshwayo fight was a poor judgment call on the part of his handlers, accepting the fight on about two weeks notice after Julio Diaz pulled out. He's far from shot, though not to suggest he'll ever be the best. Still, he's gonna be a tough out for any lightweight contender/champion.

What the Hlatshway fight showed me is that Nate lacks the mental makeup to be a world champion again. He should have won that fight. He's like McCline.
