The two men Jones feared. What would have happened between them?

I'd pick DM by commanding decision. Tarver's counter left would probably bust hs face up some but it wouldn't be enough to hold off the Tiger. At close, DM, outpunches him and with his great stamina gives him a sound beating late in the fight

Tarver agrees to the fight, willing to go to Germany to make it happen. Dariusz instead fights Richard Hall again.

I have to go with Tarver if this fight happens at all. Michalczewski was a great champion for a week or two, but he simply wasn't that talented. And Tarver in his prime had a hell of a chin. Don't forget that Michalczewski was basically stopped with one punch by Roccighianni (sp.), only to have the win overturned.

I'm assuming that you believe that the Tarver that fought the featherfisted Harding the first time (WHEN Antonio was still undefeated) was past his prime......

Tarver was put down by Rocky as well. :tease: :tease:

If Tarver doesn´t stop him earlier, Dariusz´s pressure behind his stiff jab, will get to him eventually. Dariusz TKO11.

I'd go with DM. Tarver never could handle pressure. Barring another lucky punch for him with his eyes closed, DM wears him down and stops him in the 10th or 11th.

Interesting fight. I'd lean towards DM by decision. He didn't stop fighting real fighters for living until after the Griffin fight. He was a pressure fighter with a great jab, so I think he gets the Tarver that fought Johnson, an awkward combination puncher who piles points first. This would have been interesting.

He had a broken jaw. The same thing happened to Sonny Liston against Marty Marshall, and no one talks about him having a weak chin.
Um, did you see Michalczewski-Roccighianni I? I'm guessing not.

I don´t know what that has to do with my comment, but I saw it. He was hurt by a punch on the break, did you see Pacquiao/Barrera II? Same punch.

Besides when has Tarver fought somebody that could crack like Michalczewski?

Roy Jones, Glen Johnson, Eric Harding, Montell Griffin, Reggie Johnson, Bernard Hopkins? Not exactly murders row.

So? When motivated, Rocky was one hell of a fighter. He beat Eubank before Calzaghe did it. :tease:

It´s not like Tarver has been invincible on the way up. :dunno:

No he didn't, Eubank had his measure easily early on and allowed Rocky some success in the mid to latter rounds to walk away with a close decision...eubank had a tendency to just do enough
