WBC #9 rated contender Jameel McCline plans to file an official protest with the WBC later this week.

"After watching the fight on tape, not only do I think I won, but I think that I would have stopped Peter if the referee (Mike Ortega) did not give him so much time to recover from the knockdowns in round three. Also, Judge Bill Costello had the fight 10-2 in rounds, which is absolutely ridiculous."

Instead of crying to the WBC and filing a protest that he will never win, he should ask himself why he threw the fight away by not doing jack shit after he had Peter all but out.

He has nobody to blame but himself.

Watching that fight all I could think of is So much for Peter having an iron chin. What happened? McCline isn't a huge puncher, Peter took way bigger shots from Wlad and was only rocked in the last round.

Maybe it was something he ate? So the chin of a fighter can differ from fight to fight.

speaking of McCline, what happened to his steroids allegations? I was expecting this matter to pick up after the fight with Peter but I guess it got swept under the rug.:dunno:

Poor McCline. King can't even give him the Golota treatment, and have him bounce around between the four titlists (though Jameel already managed to do that on his own). The only one King now has paper on is Peter, who still isn't full-term titlist.

Maybe he can just have McCline fight Golota. He spent all of last week raving how Golota was the fighter of the night @ MSG that night - even to the point where Golota himself was sick of hearing it.

Why not? James Toney filed the exact same protest after fighting Peter, and he got a rematch. Those little shit fights he has between title bouts. How much do you think he makes? $30K? $50K? 100K? In a title bout, he'll make ten times as much, because he's the perfect opponent. He's fought for all four titles, and he's made a good fight out of it two or three times, but he'll never win because he's a four-round fighter. Want your fighter to look like he can beat a giant? Come back from adversity? Jameel McCline's your man.
