How can Roid Jones Jr. be considered great if he got dominated by an ordinary Tarver?

Supposedly if he had taken the test a few days later, he would have tested negative.

Exactly, it was a matter of days with him too. Just as well he could now be remembered as the greatest sprinter ever whose world record stood above everybody for over a decade

The Randy Turpin fight was not in Robinson's prime. Most of his welterweight fights were in his prime!

Robinson's defense was much more subtle in his middleweight years. Compare the number of times he got knocked down at 147 to how many times he was knocked down in his early - or even late - years at middleweight. And don't tell me that the Robinson of the LaMotta VI or Maxim fights wasn't a fighter in his prime. :eek:ld:

Roy is obviously a great fighter

He beat everyone he ever faced, except for Glen Johnson near the very end of his career

The fact that he got caught twice greatly dampens that sentiment.

The second time out they made a surprise test for him which they usually don't do. Also he has confessed using steroids from 1981 after which he won plenty of titles (one of them the world championship) before getting busted
