Bute has Berrio on the ropes. Lands some lefts.

He finally shows some agression and follows up.

    It's over!
    Berrio out on his feet.

    Bute by TKO.

I don't have much positive to say about Bute peformance.

He fought a dumb fight and still won, that's about it.

Agreed. His eye looks pretty bad, too. Not impressed. I´d favour Mundine and Froch over him. Lacy, Andrade, Inkin, Brähmer would make for an interesting fight.

Kessler would have had Berrio out in two rounds.

Haha. German and Canadian boxing are very similar. Always support the local fighter till death, no matter what style he has, as long as he´s local and successful. And interview every C-level celebrity, even if he/she has no clue about boxing.

Exactly. We had all these weak ass celebrities giving their input as if they knew anything about boxing, it seems that being known qualifies you as an expert here.

It seems like Bute had regressed rather than improved. Did he get a new trainer?

I already posted about his weaknesses in the past and even did in this same thread.

He can't seem to counter punch worth a shit. It didn't much matter as his aggression, power and body punching would get him through in previous fights. He needed some improvements to be sure but not a change in style.

Tonight he didn't body punch at all and tried to play the ROLE of a counter puncher.

It was like Floyd Sr. working with Bojado.

I don't think much of Bute, but then again Berrio was one tough guy, if anything he could hit

Once they interview´d a folk music star in his mid 50´s. Turns out his father was a pretty good amateur boxer in South Africa, and he follows boxing for 30 years. So he brutally honest broke down a Klitschko mismatch, and now he´s banned from interviews, because he knows too much. :shit:

Well, some of those weaknesses have always been there...but tonight they were amplified as he seemed way too hesitant and caught between roles.

I don't know if he's actually regressed -- or if he was simply being way too careful and hesitant to engage, which significantly impacted his offense.

He HAS, however, in his recent fights, become a bit more of a clincher and too patient/reactive....it seemed to come to a head in this fight given Berrio's power and reach.

No doubt he likely should have had him out much earlier.

    Peace.
