I think it may happen. It's the biggest money fight for Oscar, unless there's a rematch with Mayweather.

Cotto will have to move up again though.

I don't take Oscar's talks of going to 147 seriously.

If not 154, then it's at a catchweight, maybe 151 or so.

Cotto's a BAD Matchup for DeLa...

His PERSISTENCE & DETERMINATION is a BAD Mix for DeLa's SUSPECT Stamina...

DeLa would B WINNING the Fight Fairly Comfortably After 4 or 5 Rounds, but the LATTER Half would B ALL Cotto...

& if DeLa was "Hurt" by that Lovetap to the Body from Bernard, HOW is he Gonna REACT to the CONSISTENT Body POUNDING that Cotto Administers???...

When Cotto wins, it's Cotto-GLH in May.

If Shane somehow wins, then look for Floyd-Shane sometime next year.

What you will not see, is Floyd-Cotto. Arum reconciled with Oscar this year; don't expect miracles in back-to-back years. Not unless the money on the table is too overwhelming for both sides to refuse.

I really hope Cotto wins then face oscar, and I really hope floyd wins, and hatton fight mosley next. That would be a good matchup. As for floyd....well, there's always paul williams :dunno: it's up to him

It's the "G" in GLH for gay or girl?

I'm hoping Cotto makes a big name for himself if he beats DLH in May, and that would help provide that money for a miracle for a late 2008 matchup with Mayweather.

    Maybe wishful thinking though.

If Cotto is a heavy favourite for an Oscar matchup, as it seems like he would be after the sentiments in this thread, I'll put alot of money on Oscar....in this one.

    POOR Tito!!!

Even w/the Fight w/Roy Forthcoming, SURELY Tito has DeLa on his Mind:dunno: ...They've ALWAYS Seemed DESTINED to Fight a 2nd Time, N REED's Opinion...

Cotto Facing DeLa Puts ANY Hopes of Tito-DeLa II @ PERIL...

DeLa has Been Able to "Wing It", Fighting 1nce Per Year for the Last Several Years Because he HASN'T Been in a PHYSICAL Fight During that Stretch...Even the KO Loss to Bernard WASN'T a "Physical" Fight...

If Dela (Somehow) BEATS Cotto, it's Gonna B 1 of THE MORE PHYSICAL Bouts of his ENTIRE Career...2 Borrow Merchant's Verbiage, Cotto is a "Truth Machine"...

REED Can't See a Part-Time Boxer BEATING Miguel Cotto...The Cat is just Tooooooooo HUNGRY & DETERMINED...He PUSHES & PUNISHES his Opponents...

DeLa May Not WANT to Fight Tito or ANYBODY ELSE, after Sharing a Ring w/Cotto...

Unless DHL knocks Cotto the fuck out he will be in trouble in the late rounds.

I think Oscar stops Cotto before he has to worry about late rounds. I'm pretty sure Cotto doesn't even get by Mosley anyway.

Cotto will KO De La Hoya...with a REAL BODY SHOT...De La Hoya will have his moments...he could even score a KO early..but if it goes past 5-6 and he has warn Cotto down...rounds 7-12 will be BRUTAL for Oscar.

Cotto is over-rated azz hell at this point. I don't think he'd beat Margarito, and Cintron could probably knock him out.

There is a potential for problems for Cotto in that one. its really up to Cotto to tighten up his defense a bit. He is still learning and should be able to suss this out and get it right. He has good instincts, just needs to not give the guy a shot down the middle while he is coming in.

I also think Cotto has to learn not to square up so much to the guy before he starts his body attack. Mosley could also take advantage of him on this account but I think Oscar is a little more flexible and therefore able to exploite that tendency Cotto has. Mosley has one gear and if he can outspeed you, outwork you and hurt you he will win, if not he just keeps at it.

but I don't think Oscar should be able to beat Cotto. I reserve final judgement until after the Cotto Mosley fight.

Yep. It's like I said, once Mosley beats him he should be brought back down to a more human perspective in matchup predictions. Right now, he's the second coming of Duran in that regard.

Oh, and he wouldn't beat Oscar either. To bad we'll never know for sure.

Floyd doesn't sound like he wants to fight Cotto.
