Sorry guys, but I can't see this any other way around. Louis had trouble with right cross and few fighters, if any, had a better one than Wlad. Louis' success was often based on his great jab, but against Wlad that wouldn't work out either. I see him getting bombed out by the bigger guy
I this case, it's very possible. As I've said before, Wlad is one of the best offensive fighters in heavyweight history. Of course Louis is too....and quite honestly, both men are capable of beating the other by early KO. In this case however, because of the styles, I have to favour the big klit.
Even if both fighters approached this matchup with extreme caution i don't see it going past 8 rounds. Eventually something big is going to land and i don't think either man can take too many stiff shots from the other. Wlad has big advantages in height and reach ,and also works well behind the jab setting up his bombs. You have to favor his punches to get to the targe before Joe's. At the same time if Louis knocked out Wlad i wouldn't exactly die of shock.
Yeah I do realize that. Seen him a few times on TV. Watched his brother fight Lennox Lewis. I know he's from Ukraine. Seen is picture on various advertizements on HBO.com/boxing, Fightbeat.com, Fightnews.com, Tsn.ca/boxing. Hope this helps and thanks for asking.
I tend to think that if Davaryl and Lamont Brewster could counter his offence succesfully then Louis could too. Its hard to conceivably find a way that Louis could lose as I question Wlad's one punch kayo power. Certainly a good style clash though.
:: he can also land some jabs and then punch him twice or a bazillion times with the right like Schmeling did... :cheer:
Name me a heavyweight who had clearly better one-punch KO power compared to Wlad. One-punch KOs at the top level are pretty rare
Botha, Golota, Ruddock? TRUE one-punch KOs are pretty rare everywhere, even at HWT. Lewis certainly has comparable power to WLad if not more so.
Botha KO was a three-punch combo, Golota took two series of right handers on his face and Ruddock, even though it was one punch that did the damage, was in floor total of three times. I am just nit-picking there of course, sice as you (and I) said, one-punch KOs are very rare and I don't think anybody in the history of heavyweight has been clearly better one punch KO artist. I do agree with you that Lewis is as big a puncher, if not bigger, than Wlad, but there is no big difference either way
That's fair; the differences aren't huge; and Wlad has considerable power. But he's certainly not alone, and there are some HWTs who are out in front - Foreman, Shavers, and Lewis (slightly) to name a few. Tua comes to mind. And Louis was extremely explosive, especially given his size. Peace.
Mentioning Wlad in the same sentence as Louis is absurd. The guy did get his ass kicked by frekin' Ross Purrity for crying out loud. Louis had better tecnique, better handspeed an better power. Louis wins the first time he lands anything on that glass chin.
