Saturday, November 3rd will be a showcase for the peaks and valleys of championship level prizefighting. The high end will pit Joe Calzaghe against Mikkel Kessler in the most meaningful super middleweight fight ever. The not-so high end features Juan Manuel Marquez defending his super featherweight title against Rocky Juarez, a replacement opponent. Luckily neither fight will up your cable bill. HBO will be broadcasting the 168 lb. battle live from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. SHOWTIME is doing likewise with the 130 lb. affair, from the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona. http://www.fightbeat.com/article_detail.php?AT=522
cupey, the kessler/calzaghe fight is live at what time? Do they start it late over in England in order to make it primetime for Americans? They're 5 hours ahead of us where I am.
Fight is at 1AM GMT / 2AM CET - Usually we have 6 hours difference from Denmark to New York - but due to daylight savings time being different i think it's only 5 hours at the moment, wich would work out to 9PM EST.
I find it funny how they bend over backwards just for the sake of American networks. It's usually not natural for fighters to be feeling fit and ready to fight at 2 am in the morning. They should be asleep by then. Stupid crap that is.::
just about one more day to wait before we get to see Slappy drool on himself - can't wait!!! Kessler's straight shots are gonna smash Slappy-the-stinker. Who's the last guy Slappy fought with a decent jab? Can't even think of one. Maybe Veit?
I still grin at all this 'slappy' stuff: I'm sure Joe's KO% is very similar to Mikkel's, yet Joe 'slaps' and Mikkel is gonna 'make Slappy drool on himself'... :: You really do hate Calzaghe, don't you Double L?
