De La Hoya WBO "Fighter of the Decade" & "Promoter of the Year"

San Juan, Puerto Rico (November 2) – It’s the fistic version of a daily double, and a distinction no other boxer has ever achieved, but yesterday at the World Boxing Organization (WBO) convention in Puerto Rico, Oscar de la Hoya was honored twice by the sanctioning body, both as “Fighter of The Decadeâ€￾ and “Promoter of The Yearâ€￾.

while I agree that Oscar is getting to the point where he could be called "promoter of the year", how on earth can he be the WBO's fighter of the decade.

The only WBO title he "held" was the MW title after what was at best a questionable win over Felix Sturm.

 

Well thats the only WBO title he help the last 10 years because he Blew Paez out head first about 15 years ago for the WBO lightweight title.

 

He Also Won a WBO Title @ 130 if REED's Not Mistaken...

Either way Fighter of the decade is beyond ridiculous.

 

but that isn't relevant. This award is fighter of the decade, none of what he did in the mid-90's counts towards that, clearly
