I think the fight next week between Miguel Cotto and Shahe Mosley is a perfect example of the kind of match-ups boxing should be filled with. A solid up and coming yet somewhat established guy taking on a superstar of the "old guard." On paper I think this is about as even a contest as I could imagine. Part of me thinks Shane's speed will bother Cotto, and if he keeps distance things will go his way. Another part of me looks for Cotto to start faster than usual and keep shane from getting into rhythm. If cotto comes at him hard, I think his unnaturally heavy hands/power will be enough to bother mosley enough that he slows down and allows Miguel to win rounds. Cotto has passed every test so far, and I look at the first Mosley/Vargas fight as an indicator that his style may work in his favor aginst an aging shane who probably won't get Miguel's respect with the power he has.
interesting fact of this fight is that they'll be wearing 8 oz gloves - and in the case of cotto, that means illegally skinned gloves. still, it could be the return of mosley's KO power, in which case his right hand could once again be a factor.
:: ok. watch miranda/green again, and take notice when they show cotto doing mit work in between rounds.
Do you ALWAYS take these little gems that some trainer spouts and then run around repeating them like a parrot? 'Cause this ain't the first time. Come on, Doub. ::
