Lacy vs Kessler? Who wins?

Nice try but I never made an official pick. In fact Donnybrook IM'ed me right before the fight asking who I picked and I said toss up although forced to pick I take calzaghe.

I agree about Calzaghe's strength. he is a lot stronger than people think. Besides the lacy fight you have the bika fight to. Bika is nothing else if not strong but Calzaghe was just as strong. The closer this fight has gotten the more I think Calzaghe may win.

You didn't pick Calzaghe outright. Thats like a typical Donny prediction. Cover all bases in case you are wrong.

 

So, tell me again how the people in this thread picked the fight wrong? That don't look like a wrong pick to me.

 

You can't call it right either. You obviously thought Kessler was gonna win at some point if you are saying when this fight gets closer i think Calzaghe may win. Saying a guy may win isn't a prediction its a way of covering yourself if that guy loses. Now if you said Calzaghe WILL win and put it in the prediction thread then i would acknowledge it.

Like I said, ask Donny who I picked when he IM'ed me. It was VERY tentatively and to me the fight was a toss up. REGARDLESS, that is not a wrong pick, is it?

 

Hey im sorry if i came accross like that but honestly it's ironic because i kinda fought you guys came accross the same way when you kept saying that Lacy has no chance against Kessler. I didn't even say Lacy would win, i just said he would make it a war and be competitive. Then i listed reasons as to why it would be competitive.

As for True Brit i wasn't talking about him because i wasn't debating Lacy-Kessler with him was I. As for Valdosta Im happy he sent you a PM regrading the fight. However he didn't exactly make it clear cut as to who he was picking hopefully next time he can put it in the prediction thread. When you say a guy may win or a team may win its not a solid prediction. Its just a way or suggesting an outcome.

He may win. He will win. You see the difference.

Actually Lacy would give Kessler a much harder fight than you realize.

Kessler's got great fundamentals...much better than Lacy, obviously...but Kessler's predictable like clockwork as a result and he's not very fast.

Lacy could make it rough for him.

Kessler by decision...but 7-5.

 

You are correct. Donnybrook is wrong in this instance.

 

Very easy win for Kessler. Lacy would run into that counter right time and time again. Kessler is much too precise and it takes way too long for Lacy to load up with his shots. One-sided beating in favor of the Dane

 

Ok..now let's pretend something.

Let's say the styles were exactly the same, but Kessler was the black American and Lacy was the white European. Would your prediction be the same? ::

Compare Kessler to that guy that Jeff nearly lost to after the Calzaghe fight.

Kessler is too tall, too fast, too straight, too powerful and too precise.

He would land, and, IMHO, against a faded version of Jeff, that would be enuff.

 

Lacy has been and always will be too in love with his "power" to ever blossom into the type of fighter that could beat someone at the skill level of Kessler or Calzaghe. He's a one trick "left hook" pony who had too many pushovers early to ever get out of that mold. Kessler wins easy.

 

Absolutely no way Lacy has faster hands than Kessler. Kessler looked a little faster than expected actually, against a VERY fast super middle in Calzaghe.

Kessler wouldn't beat Lacy quite as easily as Calzaghe did, but he would still beat him easily. Lacy is incredibly basic, and really just not that good.

Lacy against Andrade is probably a pick em fight.

 

Kessler would detonate his right hand on Lacy's dome repeatedly. I'd be surprised if it went the distance.

 

Not a competive fight. Kessler kills him.
