Well, I didn't get to see Sloppy Joe drool, or stumble on the mat in a pathetic display. And Sloppy Joe "did" win, so that's bad news. But let's face it. Kessler provided more than enough samples of hard clean connects that rattled Calzaghe seriously for even the hardest core haters to enjoy.

I for one have watched bits and pieces of the fight 4 times already just to see "Awkward Joe" stumple into hard pin-point counters the likes of which he's never felt before. And for someone who's been in boxing as long as he has? And been champion as long as he? The fact that he stood up to these counters doesn't change the fact that he took 10 years to grow a sack before he'd take on someone as good.

So thanks to Kessler for putting some serious hurt on Joe, and providing plenty of samples for sadists to watch Joe run into uppers, right hands and even left hooks.

Nevermind that he lost - Kessler is the one who put the hurt on. Good for him!

By the way: this has nothing to do with my prediction and the fact that I was wrong. It's more to do with the fact that I was hoping to see Sloppy lose and did not. So for all you prediction-obsessed and I-am-correct-centric sickos, give it a rest.

what. you thought the fact that Sloppy won would change the fact that I hate him?

Picking fights based upon who you want to win is tedious and annoying. No one would take your analysis seriously in future if you keep that up. We all have favourites and are a little biased at times, but when it comes to actually picking a winner we should offer a balanced analysis as best we can.

    of course it doesn't.

Remember the thread where I pointed out that you're P4P the worst person on this thread at accepting a blown prediction?

Use this thread as further evidence.

Also, I don't know why you take being wrong so poorly, you've got TONS of practice under your belt.

Double L can be a boob sometimes but at least, after his prediction was incorrect, he didn't infer that Calzaghe was involved with the KKK.

    That's what I meant.

He hates PBF, but he hates Hatton more, and if PBF beats up Hatton, he'll go on some hilarious rant about how the hack had it coming.

Well, no worse than what some Calzaghe supporters have said or made out of the fight. I wonder how many bet their life savings on Calzaghe before the fight, since they were so sure, or during the fight, since Calzaghe was winning so easily. There was a lot of money to be made, when Calzaghe ate the uppercuts in the 4th round. I´m sure MWS bet his house on Calzaghe, since Kessler is so ordinary.

I've never said Kessler was ordinary. He is a VERY good fighter, and the 2nd best fighter that Calzaghe has beaten.

I guess what I was surprised is that people who I know know boxing like Donny, thought he was great. Kessler is very good, Calzaghe is great.

First off I don't agree wit double. However I am going to pat myself on the back for picking Joe to win. The question I have for those that picked Kessler to beat Calzaghe is who in the hell has he beaten to get the pub that he gotten. Who has he beaten that could have prepared him for Joe. To me Kessler hasn't beaten anyone nor has he fought anyone on Joe's level. I guess I'm trying to figure out is how in the hell did Kessler get so much hype? I'll Holla 5000

he's beaten as many good fighters as Sloppy had. i don't want to get into a discussion (especially with you) about the merits of picking one fighter over another after the fact, but kau made a post around here some where explaining why Kessler was the reasonable choice.

but getting back to your point, who has Sloppy beaten (or looked good against) that would make you pick "him?" by the way, this is called, looking at both sides of an argument.

I'm just a guy on a message board comenting on your thread. I'm not sure what kind of answers you're looking 4, but as far as this thread is concerned, giving credit where it's due could be a start...

Couldn't you say the same thing when kelly Pavlik KO'ed jarmain Taylor? A better question would be why wouldn't kessler give Calzaghe a tough fight? he had beaten everyone put in fron of him while barely losing rounds in the process. He beat other top 10 guys like Andrade,Beyer and Mundine. There was NOTHING wrong with Kessler's resume coming into this fight.

BTW- This thread is stupid. Kessler did his best, tried his hardest but in the end he lost.

 lol @ he hadnt beaten anyone at Joe's level. You mean a long reining record breaking title holder? Not too many of them around dude. Yes, Kessler beat a bunch of guys, you just didn't know who they were, nor did you really know who Kessler was prior to this fight I'd bet. Don't pat yourself on the back too hard for picking the one guy you'd seen before.

    Me? :dunno:

And there's me thinking I was an intelligent, classy, disguished, English gentleman!

By the way, don't listen to that beta male...I was just being humourous when I suggested that Pavlik was KKK.

    I know.

He fought a good fight and got beaten by a better fighter. That's really all there is to it.

Kessler had success early, Calzaghe was able to make adjustments and takeover the fight.
