I don´t seem to remember a world title fight between Christmas and New Year in the last couple of years. It´s basically the one week offseason of boxing.
They say it's bcause fights don't sell well on days like that. Meanwihile, UFC does well on these dates.
ah gotcha. you could be right. I know Isreal Vazquez had a title defense very late in 2004, I thought it was in between that time frame. But yeah, it's certainly not that common.
Cunningham doesnt have a hope of hanging onto his title IMO, huck is very upright, a bit like Vitaly (and he also comes from a kickboxing background), and punches with intent...Tokarev is a pretty tough guy and Huck had him backing up majorly in a one sided fight on my card...Huck also punches like a kickboxing guy, it almost looks like striking - not pretty but effective...
As I remember, there is usually a big US fight in the middle of December and then nothing until January. But Asia, and its title fights, go right through this time period, as would be expected.
