NEW YORK, NY (November 6, 2007 ) . . . With "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather and Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton heavily entrenched in preparations for their own welterweight championship showdown December 8, both undefeated fighters took the time to weigh in on the welterweight mega-contest between their division rivals Miguel Cotto and Sugar Shane

Floyd WANTS to fight Mosley, and so he's hoping for a Shane victory.

Why shouldn't he? He sure as hell does not want to fight Cotto. Not that he won't.... but I am quite sure he is hoping to face Mosley instead.

If Floyd fights Hatton and then Cotto he may have to let his internal organs rest a while.

i think the best scenario for Mayweather in terms of money and legacy would be for Cotto to demolish Mosley and then he fight Cotto :dunno:

don't fall in line with that stupidity...you CANNOT possibly believe cotto would be a tougher fight for mayweather than mosley. you KNOW that's where those other two bozo's (especially slystaff) are coming from.

No, it's because both Floyd and Arum are on record as claiming that a Floyd-Cotto fight will NEVER happen. Not unless the pot is so overwhelming that they're forced to kiss and make up. Floyd WANTS Shane to win, because that's the fight he wants next, rather than have to suck it up and do business with Arum.

C'mon tap - seven months ago, Floyd was belittling Shane as nothing but a sparring partner. Now all of a sudden he's a world class fighter and is gonna knock out Cotto early.

I'm agreeing with the line of thinking that Floyd and Hatton are toeing the company line. Honestly when was the last time any GPHM fighter bet against the house? (and just to be clear, Mayweather Promotions is the same thing as Winky Promotions - a shell company that is really a subsidiary for GPHM.)

you know you're disappointed that mayweather and hatton have picked mosley over cotto because YOU WANT cotto to win. regardless of the extenuating circumstances you're acting as if those two cannot naturally believe mosley will win the fight...that's bullshit, sorry.

    Jesus, tap.

You accuse so many others of bias....but your bias for Mosley is of astronomical, megalomaniacal proportions....so MUCH so that you actually accuse people of what they're THINKING.

I am not sure who would be a tougher fight for Floyd.

Personally I think Hatton stands a better chance than either of them. Quite simply - pressure. That's how to beat Floyd, it's just going to take a good enough pressure fighter. Duran Leonard stylee.

Perhaps Mosley would be a slightly tougher fight for Floyd. Due to the fact that Cotto is just too patient to beat Floyd, and Shane has faster hands.

Hatton would crush both of these faggots easily.
Cotto is just another Puerto-Rican hype-job waiting to be dismantled (and Mosley will do it....a shot Mosley at that).
Hatton beats both these guys - then stamps on their bollocks and downs a gallon of beer for a laugh.

Sly really gets you riled up, eh?

Sure, I have fighters I like, my friend - no doubt!

Two of them happen to be fighting this weekend, which sucks (in a good way).

actually... and you can ask Muzse, Eaner and TWIN on this - I kind of want Shane to win, for the same reasons Floyd does. A combo of Shane and Floyd winning all but guarantees that they fight next year, whereas a Cotto-Floyd fight is more difficult to make from PoliTricks perspective.

And no, I don't believe a damn thing Floyd says. Much like Oscar, Floyd is a graduate of Bob Arum U., where the school mantra is "Yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth."

Quite honestly, I rarely put any stock into ANY fighters' predictions, especially when its a fight at their same weight. More often than not, their pick is based on who they want to win, who they're friends with, and/or who they'd rather fight.

I'm indifferent to both fighters, I just think Cotto will win. If Shane wins, I'll liken it to the first Pac-Barrera fight, where I was happy to be wrong yet will still eat crow when all is said and done.

    And let me reiterate...

Who Floyd would rather fight next has NOTHING to do with who he perceives as the tougher fight. If Shane were with Top Rank, and Cotto with Golden Boy (or anyone other than Top Rank), Floyd would be rooting for Cotto, and predicting him to score an early knockout over Shane.

Hes doing something right. The groupies and the haters anticipate every word that Floyd says.
