I don't know, I thought Froch looked very sloppy, and got caught with way too many desperation right hands. Reid appeared to give up on himself as early as the third round, yet managed to enjoy a good 4th and still had his moments in the 5th before giving in. Froch throws a nice straight right hand, but for an offense-driven fighter, his punch selection is fairly limited.
I agree. Froch did look almost tentative tonight - I wonder of the knee-surgery may have been on his kind. However, as far as power + handpseed goes, Froch cannot be denied. 'Limitedness'(sic) aside, he's the next 168 Boss.
He said as much in the post-fight, being off for seven months and overcoming the operation, he felt rusty. He wanted more rounds, that's why he was patient early. He was honest in his post-fight, didn't make a lot of the win, acknowledged that Reid was past his best, but also noted Reid had ten weeks to train, that he came to pull off the upset, and that it was Froch's job to prevent it from happening.
Handspeed? :: He is slow. And pavlik is a good boxer and good tactical fighter. He is a thinking beast, not a basic fighting farmer like froch. Pavlik also has a great punch selection, simply watch his last 2 fights. Pavlik would demolish Froch, it wouldn't even be a fight. Pavlik in 5 or 6 one sided rounds. Froch is a European level fighter. He has a good punch and that's IT. He doesn't hit as hard as Pavlik by the way.
