Cotto won't hold as much as Floyd. This would be a MAJOR fight and a PPV blockbuster. It is the biggest fight out there now. It could propell Cotto to Trinidad status.

Who do you think wins this fight? It is hard to say IMO. Delahoya is bigger and stronger. Cotto has youth. A prime Delahoya would have beaten him however.

De La Hoya wants to fight in May right? So If Floyd/Hatton winner doesn't fight Cotto next that's the fight that should be made you're right. Cotto/Hoya would be a huge money fight.

I just hope that Floyd doesn't beat Hatton and face Hoya again in May. I would hate to watch that fight again.

Cotto has said that Margarito had his shot at him and opted for Williams instead, so it looks like Tony is out.

He also said he fights whoever Arum and his fans ask him to fight. If Arum tells Cotto, "Here's $2-3 million, you're fighting Margarito next", guess what? Miguel Cotto's next fight would be against Antonio Margarito.

right, because who gives a fuck about the fights the fans actually want to watch.

GLH should do the rest of us a favor, and just stick to fishnets and phony smiles.

I still expect this to happen on May 3, 2008, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if Cotto ends up fighting the winner of Mayweather-Hatton around the Spring of 08' again.

I would like to see Cotto/Delahoya. It would be a fun fight. :slap:

However Oscar would want Cotto to commit to fighting until May. I think Arum would rather put him with the winner of Hatton/Mayweather sometime in the spring.

That way he can fight again in June at the Garden like he does every year. Probably against Margarito.

after seeing cotto/mosley, and cotto's susceptibility to upper-cuts, which mosley should've used more often tony beats cotto; no question.

People are talking as if it's a foregone conclusion that DLH will make 147.

It's not, no matter what he says.

And if I were team Cotto, I would NOT fight at any kind of catchweight (or 154).

    Peace.

Well, Tony's susceptibility to ALL punches have been established a long time ago, so I guess that makes it a toss up... (Which is my opinion on the fight right now...)

I've said for the longest time that I never believed Oscar would fight again at 147.

DLH-Cotto would be at 154 or a catchweight, IMO.

Maybe the issue of weight would prevent the fight from happening.

I've yet to see anybody pass on a Delahoya fight aside from Mosley passing on the third one.

The money is too much to pass up. Especially for a younger fighter in Cotto knowing he would catch Oscar on his way out.

It makes too much sense to pass on it. Regardless of the weight.

Oscar can and will dictate all of the terms of a Cotto fight and Cotto will take it. It will be far more than he will make against anyone else and probably the most he will ever make for a fight.

Cotto could and will outslug/outbox/outfight/outeverything Margarito ... Margarito landed a 50 uppercuts in 2 minutes against a punching bag......

Margarito is susceptible to every punch...esp. straight punch...

Honestly, since you've admitted that you pick with you heart, it's difficult to take your opinion seriously on any matter related to Margarito or Oscar.

    Cotto beats Margarito down..
