Now that you have seen Cotto @147 does your opinion of the outcome change? Or does Tito still KHTFO?:bears:
Trinidad was a slow enough starter at welter to where this could've been interesting. I can hardly envision the scenario that has Cotto winning this fight, but not sure it's a complete wipeout, at least not from the opening bell. I will say, though, that if both campaigned at the same time, Cotto would be about as relevant to the Puerto Rican boxing scene as Kermit Cintron.
I can't see Cotto winnning the fight, but I certainly see him hurting Tito early. Good fight, but Trinidad would ultimately take him outta there in the middle rounds.
Probably a good fight for about 6-8 rounds then they start to exchange blows like they like to do and whe Cotto gets caught Hooking with a REAL HOOKER he goes out counting sheep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz/ Tito KO 8
As good as Cotto has been in since the start of his career....i can't bring myself to pick him to win in almost any of these Mythical Matchups..... be it...Trinidad, Quartey, De La Hoya, Whitaker, Hearns, etc...etc..i can't even fake it...:dunno: i think it's his body type..if he was a 130/35 Fighter i could see beating some of the greats from those weight division...but at Welter and up everyone is taller/longer reach/bigger..
Trinidad KO 4 Cotto scores the proverbial Tito knockdown and hurts him a couple of times but soon succumbs to the superior punching power and accuracy.
Cotto's probbaly at least as good a fighter at 147lb as Felix 'overrated' Trinidad ever was, but style wise he matches up horribly. Tito by wide UD with at least 3 KDs.
No he's not. Theres not one single thing that Cotto does better than a prime Tito. Felix was more talented, and better by far.
bad style for Cotto....BAD Assuming he doesn't get the "papa trinidad" wraps also, I'll say Tito in 5. great action fight for sure, but not one I give Cotto much of a shot in.
Cotto uses his brain better than Tito ever did thats for sure. He jabs better as well and works angles far better. And he's already beaten a better fighter at the weight than Tito ever did. But time will tell. Im such not an enourmous Cotto fan either, so Im not about to argue the toss that ardently with you. Regardless Tito wins this MM by wide UD
I have to agree Cotto is a better boxer than Tito. But like you pointed out Tito still beats his ass in this MM.
^^^ Cotto is undoubtedly a better boxer than Tito: smarter, more adaptable, better movement, better ring generalship. But Tito beats him in offensive talent and that's what the fight will come down to...
^^^^ Disagree. Weterweight Tito was a better boxer than Cotto. He jabbed better, moved better, had quicker hands, and more accurate with his punches. There is NOTHING Miguel does better than prime Tito. Nothing.
Watch Trinidad's fights with guys like Barnes, Lovato, Moore, Carr, etc. etc. The only Cotto does on the level of Trinidad is go to the body. I don't think he could outbox Trinidad, though.
Yes... then watch him look like a zombie against the elite. There's no fucking way Tito is a better boxer. No way Tito easily beats him. You think Cotto is acurrate as hell against Malignaggi, Zab and Shane? Wait until he has Tito in there, eager as always to eat every kind of punch. Cotto is smarter, more compact, has a better jab and is a better bodypuncher. Tito wins because he's a harder puncher and he would've a bit more firepower for Cotto but he would be in hell early on.
