it could be, but that might have more to do w/ hatton's grappling than mayweather's supposed 'running'
well, TBH, the fact that, all that considered, my vote still goes to Vazquez-Marquez II should answer that question. I have no problem with either one being considered FOTY. I'd be disappointed if Bika-Codrington got it, even though it was a great slugfest in its own right. If the argument AGAINST Vazquez-Marquez II was that it was a bit too one-sided, then it would have to apply more so to Bika-Codrington.
bika-condrington was a good fight, but also one-sided. but round 1 of that fight should win round of the year for sure.
disagREED:eeeek: :eeeek: @ NO Point During Marquez-Vasquez II did REED Get the Sense that Rafa was Gonna WIN that Fight (& REED PICKED Marquez to Win Fairly EASILY)...But SEVERAL Times During Bika-Codrington, it LOOKED Like Jaidon was on the Verge of KO'ing Bika... Even though REED had Bika COMFORTABLY AHEAD on the Cards, Jaidon DROPPED him & STAGGERED him a Handful of Other Times... That's MORE than Rafa Mustered in the RE w/Vasquez, N REED's Opinion...Bika was GENUINELY HURT toooooooo Often to Classify that Bout as TRUELY "1-Sided"... REED
I hate the Contender and everything ASSociated with it; therefore, I have yet to see this fight. I'm sure ESPN will rerun it once, twice or three billion times over the few weeks.
I don't know, I felt the same way about Bika-Codrington. His power kept him in the fight throughout, but he won two rounds, tops. One was the first, where he was damn near knocked out himself. As for Vazquez-Marquez II - if he didn't stop Raffy when he did, he was going to be declaed a TKO loser due to the severity of his cut. I'm not sure how much closer to the brink of defeat you have to be.
