But that DOESN'T Mean this is an EASY Fight to Handicap OR that the Fight Itself WON'T B MEMORABLE:nono: ...

Soooooo, on that Note, WHO YOU GOT???

I'm honestly looking forward to this fight .. I think this will actually be very entertaining - and even a possible illegal brawl at some point ...

    I'll go with 'Nando.

Mayorga's only got two worthwhile rounds in him.

These guys are fighting at 168. It's going to look like Gerald "Nipples" Nobles is fighting himself.

    Vargas by UD....

If the fight end by KO it will be Vargas getting Ko'ed not Mayorga....VARGAS looked EXTREMELY slow against Mosley both times, but esp. in the rematch...

Mayo was ko'ed by DLH but that had to do more with speed than power...and DLH just took Mayorga fight out of him...

    So is REED...

It's a "Meaningless" Fight to MOST, but REED has ALWAYS Loooooooved Ferocious & he Says this is his Last Hurrah...So Hopefully he Can Go Out w/a "W"....

We have INTERESTING Characters Involved, w/FAN-FRIENDLY Styles & VULNERABILITIES...& This Fight WILL NOT Go the Distance...NO CHANCE in HELL of that Happening:nono: ...

Like Roy vs Tito, this is a "Guilty Pleasure" Fight & It'll B FUN to Watch...When U Can GUARANTEE a KO, yet CAN'T Pinpoint WHO will Get KO'ed, that's a Fight WORTH Watching...

This is a hard fight to predict. Basically, the question is "Who's more shot?". I'd say Vargas punch resistance is certainly the weakest of both but I think Vargas skills are still better than Mayorga's. On the other hand, I think Mayorga's faster and I wouldn't be surprised if he caught Vargas repeatedly with his looping right hand. Can Vargas eat it? I'm not sure... That's why I pick Mayorga by stoppage. There will be a lot of fireworks though, that's almost garanteed.

before the fight was postponed, i believe the contractual weight was 162. recently that was changed to 166. i didnt know there was another change, but if so, im not surprised.

    this is a pathetic fight.

Tough fight to call given that I don't think either fighter has fought at such a higher weight.

I think Mayorga will stop Vargas in the middle rounds with Vargas Leading on the scorecards. Fernando has lost all ability to take a punch and he looks :eek:ld: .

It's strange that it feels like Vargas is some old, shop-worn veteran in his late 30's that is on the downside of his career, when he is in fact just 29 coming up on 30. Too many hard fights. He should have been moved more slowly..

I knew it went from 162 to 166, I thought Mr. Jake upped it.

    Regardless, 166 or 168...it's still a terrible fight and I ain't buyin'.

I like Mayorga here, if he can carry 168 around. Maoyrga knows he can milk another payday out of this. Potentially against Pavlik or Taylor. He knew the job description against Tito and DLH. I feel he´ll be more motivated for this bout.

Vargas by UD. And for what it's worth, it might very well be 166. I thought they upped it from 162 to 168.

Regardless, at that heavy of a weight, I don't see either one of them bringing in any kind of punching power. it could be a shootout early, but will develop into an ugly barroom brawl no later than the 5th or 6th round. Unless of course, someone tossesThanksgiving leftovers in the center of the ring. Then perhaps they pick it up a step or two.

Anyway, Vargas by UD, controversial or otherwise. He's shot, but Mayo is borderline shot and sucks to boot.

Neither has much left. But I think Mayorga takes a better punch. I'm pulling for Vargas. But I don't think he takes a good enough shot to win this one and these guys are going to brawl. Mayorga's superior chin will win out.

    Mayorga KO 6

Vargas isn't in his prime, but neither is Mayorga. I don't think Mayorga's hunger and espceially his unlimited confidence is there anymore and that makes him far less dangerous. Vargas is the bigger man and very much like Tito and Oscar, a much more compact puncher compared to Mayorga. I pick him by a decision in a fight that will be a letdown despite weak expectations

Vargas is a better boxer, but Mayorga takes a shot better. Being this is Nando's last fight it's hard to see him fighting cautiously.

I think Mayo knocks him out.

Well yes Nando is shot, but he fought Mosley fairly tough. Mayo has been in bitch mode since De La Hoya Ko'ed him. Mayo is scared thats the problem. His fear is palpable he won't mix it up like he has in the past.

Nando in an ugly decision with a few knockdowns.
