It's not funny Gatti; she should never have been allowed to judge again. You heard it in Lennox's voice. Her still being allowed to judge is as bad as the decision in Casa-JSC

And to everyone... you're welcome for pinch-hitting for ILLUMINATI. :flip:

Funny that we have no say in what goes down on the radio show, yet it's up to us civilians to come through and provide for the message board on fight night. Especially those of us writing for some other piece-of-trash, pop-up riddled inferior site

Soto definitely won the last 2 rounds. Guzman landed fuck all in those rounds.

I hate Guzman. He has an annoying, ugly style.

Like fuck he'd beat Pacman, even this fireless pacman would bash him.

Thanks, Jake. Though I was watching it, was very useful.

Counter punchers give Pac all kinds of trouble. Add that to Guzmans chin and speed.

Top Rank ain't gonna put Pac in with Guzman anyway. Too much risk with little reward. He isn't a big enough name to get the paper Pac wants.

It is funny that she thinks people would think it's someone else. Has she EVER scored a fight right?

Easy fight for Guzman as expected.

Once Guzman got on a rythm it was easy. Even when he decided to trade with Soto he made him miss crazy.

SEriously I have never seen anything special with Soto and tonight was no different.

Of course Guzman will give Pacquiao all kinds of trouble. But Pacquiao is only looking for the money fights. Don't mean fighting the best instead fighting the cheapest opponent.

I agree Guzman would make Manny look like an amateur again like JMM did.

He is so much of a complete fighter it's not even funny. :dunno:

the nabo belt isn't a bullshit title.

yes it is, especially when it only seems to surface as part of vacant title fights - which is how Mares won it (against a marginal flyweight moving up in weight). If he won it against another bantamweight contender, then it's a different story.

on this occasion, I don't mind. I understand the concept of fighting for regional titles, in order to earn a spot close to the top of said alphabet's world rankings. But Mares hasn't fought any type of competition that warrants a top ten ranking. Not yet.

And yet she was only one round different than O'Connell who rarely gets flack for his shit card.

I thought all 3 of the judges in that fight could have been banned for life for the good of the sport.

Some good fighters have that title. I like the Peterson bros and i like Escobedo.

    Is Charles and Pernell related.

I'd guess the nabo/nabf/usba/wbc ca champs are all comparable...some very decent, some not.

I wouldn't dismiss them as bullshit even if I had a problem with any of the individual champs.

that said, I don't have a fucking clue what the wbc usnbc belt is that was recently on tv?

no, different last names (WBO spelled it wrong - it's Whittaker)

My problem with the title isn;t so much its claimants (though more than half are jokes). It's the fact that the title changes hands every other fight, almost always in a vacant title match.

Funny you mention Escobedo. He laid claim to the belt in a vacant title match - ONE MONTH after Antonio Davis won the belt. In a vacant title match.

Of the current claimants, only two actually beat a defending champion. Both of the defending champs laid claim to the belt in a vacant title fight, against no-hopers.

The belt could serve a purpose if utilized property. Instead it's become a joke title, readily available to the highest bidder.

read my follow up posts for my reasons why I feel the way I do. I have no respect for any title that's available on a whim.

I'm very big on the Peterson brothers, but it's no secret that Brian Young is quickly becoming the promoter of choice for the NABO. All it takes is for a promoter to get cozy with a sanctioning body, and suddenly any of their regional titles are made available at a moment's notice.

The biggest joke is Kali Meehan claiming Don King's training camp (Orwell, OH) as his residence, to claim eligibility for participation in an N(orth)A(merican)BO title fight

I deleted my first response where I was going to say the regional titles are worth more these days because they don't get stripped arbitrarily. And I was going to give credit to the Ali bill as one of the very (very) few things that was improved in the sport because of it.

Anyway, conceding that it's complete bullshit if they can get stripped without reason, I don't have any problem with the fact that they get won when vacant if it's because their previous claimants have gone on to bigger and better things or just dumped them to avoid a tougher than wanted fight.

Mike: at least O'Connell admitted he messed up. Williams scored round five for Holy and then claimed her view was obstructed...until film showed he looking right at Lewis the whole time. Pond scum.

No surprise there. Stylistically it was always going to be his fight by very clear UD.
