What's going on buddy? You're suddenly picking Floyd? Has your Hatton pick just been a big nause all along to wind up our American playmates?
No - I'm using my head and not my heart on this one. I'll be rooting for Hatton cos of patriotism and all the rest of it (fat lot of good that did last night, eh). But I just can't see Hatton getting close to Mayweather to even land a solid shot....PBF isn't that stupid that he'll lay on the ropes and do the should-roll/counter like he usually does...I think he'll be more offensive in the way he was against Corrales and win on points or maybe force a stoppage late.
That's fair enough old chum. I respect your objectivity. I mean it when I say I am picking Hatton though. I am nervous about it being at 147, as oddly Hatton really does seem less effective there. But I sincerely believe he has the style to beat Floyd, out of anyone Floyd has fought before. Even if Floyd wins, it'll be a fight, Hatton won't be easy by any means. Stylistically I do see it as similar to Duran Leonard. I think the reason it's a risky pick, and admittedly a bit of a long shot, is despite similarities in style - Floyd is closer to Leonard in ability than Hatton is to Duran.
I can see Floyd winning it on points but it won't be pretty. I think Floyd will land enough single shots to win the rounds, but will spend most of the fight tying Hatton up as soon as Hatton gets within range. Hatton will barely land a meaningful punch, and Floyd will lose a LOT of fans but will keep his '0'.
