Now the reason I posted this wasn't to start another pointless 'Boxing vs. MMA' thread, or to point out that Lacy knows absolutely nothing about MMA, instead I posted it because of this little gem... Wait....did Jeff Lacy put himself in the same category as Ali, De La Hoya and Sugar Ray Leonard? Now that's funny. TFK
Hahah, that's what stood out to me. Ali, De La Hoya, Ray Leonard, and Jeff Lacy. Insert music: Which one of them doesn't belong?
I'm guessing Ali. He never gave away the last three rounds to blow the decision, as Oscar did against Tito, Lacy against Calzaghe and Leonard against Norris
I don't disagree that from a popularity standpoint, MMA is a fad. But not the sport itself - it's not something that's just going to dry up and blow away. But as far as Jeff's overall comments - boxers, promoters, managers, whoever. just need to stop mentioning MMA altogether. Because they more they do (and especially with the comments they make), the more they sound threatened by the sport. MMA is doing its thing, boxing is doing theirs. Both should just leave it be, enjoy their own individual success, and move on with their lives.
Uhhh...because it's about comments made by Jeff Lacy when giving his opinion on MMA. Do you need any other painfully simple questions answered? TFK
