Emmanuel Steward comments on Kermit Cintron's right hand

-As for the status of his right hand, Steward would tell Maxboxing on Sunday afternoon, "I just couldn't believe it could be broken because of the way I wrapped it. When he came back - just as Andy Lee predicted - the doctor said there were no breaks. It's just bruised."

 

I'm still wondering how Cintron managed not to show any pain for the whole fight but was rolling around the canvas like the injury had just happened moments before he did that.:laughing:

 

None of Steward's fighters past or present seem keen in throwing bodyshots. Mostly headhunters.

 

Hamed threw spiteful body shots when Manny had him. See the Bungu and Ingle fights.

 

Cintron is a hitter and when you hurt the fifth metacarpal on your power hand, it it awful.

 

Hpw does it feel when you hurt your sixth metacarpal?

 

i just hope this isn't some scheme to avoid a williams' fight.

 

We'll find out soon enough....you can always schedule it with more lead time to allow for healing.

Gerald McClellan, Tommy Hearns, Michael Moorer were ALL fantastic body punchers...when they were with Steward.
