Mayorga beats Vargas by unanimous decision. Vargas says his career is over so lets look back at him as a whole. Is he good? Great? Hall of famer? Mayorga says he wants to go back to 147 for Cotto or Floyd. What should he do? Another possible opponent is a 3rd fight with Vernon Forrest. Cintron struggles with Felliciano but stops him in 10. Will he be ready for Williams? Is some of the luster gone from that fight? Why did he struggle with Jesse? Klitschko/Igraigimov... first heavyweight unification fight since 1999 when Lewis fought Holyfield. Step in the right direction for the division? With Peter/Maskeav also coming up in the new year, are we closer to a real heavyweight champion? <div> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0" width="210" height="25" id="mp3playerdarksmallv3" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.podbean.com/podcast-audio-video-blog-player/mp3playerdarksmallv3.swf?audioPath=http://fightbeat.podbean.com/medias/play/aHR0cDovL21lZGlhMS5wb2RiZWFuLmNvbS9wb2RjYXN0LWJsb2ctYXVkaW8tdmlkZW8tbWVkaWEtZmlsZXMvYmxvZ3MvMjM2NDUvdXBsb2Fkcy9zaG93My5tcDM/show3.mp3&autoStart=no" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <embed src="http://www.podbean.com/podcast-audio-video-blog-player/mp3playerdarksmallv3.swf?audioPath=http://fightbeat.podbean.com/medias/play/aHR0cDovL21lZGlhMS5wb2RiZWFuLmNvbS9wb2RjYXN0LWJsb2ctYXVkaW8tdmlkZW8tbWVkaWEtZmlsZXMvYmxvZ3MvMjM2NDUvdXBsb2Fkcy9zaG93My5tcDM/show3.mp3&autoStart=no" quality="high" width="210" height="25" name="mp3playerdarksmallv3" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></embed> </object> <br /><a style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-weight: normal; padding-left: 41px; color: #2DA274; text-decoration: none; border-bottom: none;" href="http://www.podbean.com">Powered by Podbean.com</a> </div>
good show:bears: I only disagree with Vargas being a hall of famer. No way :nono: I am also glad Calderon got some props at the end. he is an incredible boxer.:cheer:
good job. I wish there would have been a litle more talk about a possible Arce vs. Donaire, based on the interview we did with Ace and Team Donaire's response, but overall very solid. C
Sorry REED Missed it, Fellas... Drama w/Mrs. REED (Motherfucker HID REED's Ethernet Cable ), Drama w/REED's Old Man, Drama w/REED's Stepfather... It's Been a SHITTY, Drama Filled Last Couple Weeks... REED had Some Thoughts on the Topics, to Made it WORSE... REED:doh:
Good show, guys! Kept the pace, all of you were prepared and articulate and knowledgeable....good stuff. Don't agree with everything but that's what radio is all about! Glad to hear Karl give a shout out to Calderon and Andrew cover Jorge Arce.....need to give the little guys more love, man! And I mean from 126 down. BTW, did you guys cover Guzman-Soto last show? Peace.
Thanks Donny. I'm wasn't terrible knowledgable on the opponents for the little guys, so I was going to talk more about their possible futures next week after these fights. Yeah, we covered Guzman/Soto on the mid-week show last week. It's in the archives. :bears:
Ignore Whiskey. When you do the "80's & 90's legends of boxing" show, pretend there is no such thing as Terry Norris.
Norris Terry Norris was the Greatest Combination Puncher Ever. And I am talking Ray Robinson, as Terry's shots were crisper and more precise.
Norris was a great talent. Whiskey is not as big a fan of him as the reputation. There was another dude on MMs that's not here anymore (Kid Dynamite) that seemed to think that Norris walked on water.
whiskey's fandom was so strong, he was the only moderator in FB history who could muster up the e-muscle to miraculously open and close Norris-related threads at his disposal
I remember that, that's why we had kind of weird picks to fights such as Norris-McClellan. I never knew he did all that just with the strength of his faith though::
