damn, margarito vs castillo is a mismatch. either castillo will get blasted out in 1 or 2 rounds or he'll get the beating of his life for about 5 rounds or so.

i'd rather see margarito beat on baldomir or collazo.

Now that Cintron is out, I'd prefer Margarito take his place if it's offered, by all means his management should atleast try to persue his old title.

Well I doubt Bumlomir will be fighting at 147 anymore. But yeah, almost any welterweight is a better opponent than old man Castillo. Margarita will fuck up Castillo, then Kauki will come on here and praise Phony like he's some killer.

I cant wait for Cotto to dispose of this payaso!

Decided that since I'm taking a study break, I'd be a loser and try to explore this a bit, with random notables (not 100% inclusive, and with some spin on my part).

Cotto: Urkal, Quintana, Judah, Mosley (the biggest win on this whole hypothetical list IMO)

Mayweather: Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir (champ at that time though everyone wishes he weren't)

Mosley: Estrada, Cruz, Collazo (this whole thing would've been clearer if Hatton didn't get that decision nod), Cotto (loss)

Margarito: Clottey, Williams (loss), Cintron (important though it's downplayed) and lots of others who weighed 147 because he's been there the longest

Williams: Mitchell, Margarito (would beat everyone on this list on pure activity...yeah I'm a blind fan, so what? :dunno:)

    Cintron: Margarito (loss), Estrada

Clottey: Margarito (loss), Corrales, Baldomir (loss with more asterixes than I'm willing to put)

Judah: Spinks (split), Baldomir (loss), Mayweather (loss), Cotto (loss...is there a pattern???)

Collazo: Rivera, MAGO (this would've been BIG just a DECADE ago...), Hatton (loss...barely), Mosley (loss)

Bottom lines: if you're going to go out on a limb and say that you're going by purely what's done at 147 itself, the biggest win looks like Judah over Spinks (the champion that everyone at least AGREED was the champion) or Cotto over Mosely (because Mosley is considered a good fighter and was coming off of impressive LOOKING wins...over Vargas...who just lost to MAYORGA...nevermind...)

If you're looking at who the "champion" is (and I know I certainly stray from this once in a while), then it's Mayweather. No amount of "spin" changes that.

If you have ADHD and always go by "what you've done for me lately" then it's Cotto because his big win is also his latest win.

Note also that this is relatively speaking within the 147 division; a few of the credited fights for my observations are technically over-the-limit (Mosley and Margarito come to mind when it comes to this). If we were to include whole resumes, then Mayweather and Mosley are well ahead of Cotto. "lately" all-inclusive for Mayweather and Cotto is good for boxing overall when you consider a Mayweather run of Baldomir(AS CHAMP NOT AS THREAT)-Judah-DLH-Hatton comparison to Urkal-Judah-Mosley-Clottey or Urkal-Judah-Mosely-DLH on Cotto's ledger.

I can't wait until I can devote more time to this stuff. Boxing is awesome.

and yet, with all these facts and interpretations laid out for us (sound ones in my estimation), we all know Williams is the toughest fight out there for anyone. which is why he'll be crowded out of the mix and be screwed out of big money fights. too bad he's doesn't have a better promoter - not that Goosen is a bad one - he just doesn't have the clout that DK or TR do.

it is a letdown when you think after beating Mosley that would set the table for the Hatton/Floyd winner or Dlh. Both are hug possible fights.

Clottey is a decent fight but for from a big fight at 147.

clottey would beat delahoya and is a harder fight than delahoya. not a wise fight for cotto, who should stand up and tell arum to put him in with the opponent who will pay HIM (cotto) the most money. arum is looking to make whatever fights will best fill his own pockets. hbo and cotto are the ones who need to step in and push for the winner of dec 8 or delahoya
