What do you want me to say, Carlos. The guy can't fight is all I am going to say. The oriental guy wasn't doing anything in there to shorten up his shots, which is one of Valero's many shortcomings. Valero was squaring up to the guy as well. Look at this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YAZregpxgAQ The guy looks and fights like one of the Three Stooges, wide open winging wild looping punches, chin straight in the air, absolutely comical.
Now I get it. Part of the reason why Valero is such a poor fighter is that he dosen't have a good trainer.
not only has he done 100 times as much as you will ever do in the ring, he's a world champion who is fun to watch. What is up with the writers/contributors on this site shitting on pro fighters who are ten times more involved and valuable to the game then any of you. Valero looks much better than say Harry Greb shadowboxing, or anything marciano does. Would the "stinger" shit on those guys as much as he does world champions like Pacquiao and Valero. This is a disgusting display, and not the first one on this topic.
mr. tanaka worked w/ barrera for years. he's one of the best mitt-men in the business. not sure about his training ability tho.
I was asked to take a look at this guy on the pads and I gave my opinion to the guy that asked me. If you don't like my response, tough shit. I don't like you calling me a schlep either, something I assure you wouldn't say to me in person.
well when u diss a champion who has done nothing but entertain you come off as a spiteful ignorant prick. how bout not taking shots at true professionals, because as far as i know not only are you a hack of a writer, but you have never fought in your life. As a friend of edwin valero's I will continue to defend him against disgruntled never-was es who think they know more about boxing than an undefeated professional, or a well respected trainer. maybe you should stick to fake ass wrestling, where its part of the game to talk a bunch of nonsense and insult people who lay their life on the lines every time out.
Bro, I had 98 amateur fights going 75-23 with 41 RSC's, and I beat Al Carter who was a national champion and a killer as a pro. I also was a paid sparring partner for Rolando Navarette when he was training for Alexis Arguello who would have dusted Valero inside of a round. When I was Valero's weight, I would have dusted him inside of two rounds. Valero isn't shit as a fighter, and if it chaps your ass, that's tough -- work with it. As far as being a hack of a writer goes, my stuff is in the World Boxing Hall of Fame, asshole.
is that what bothers you. That a nobody from venezuela, because he's actually talented unlike you, gets to rise to world calibur status, where you are forced to talk a bunch of trash on a messageboard and talk about the das when u got your ass beaten by Rolando Navarette? What a joke you are to suggest you could compete with Edwin Valero. Sadly you are older, or else he'd beat the piss out of you, although if you talked this kind of shit to his face im sure he's give you a metal plate in your head to match his own. just get a reality check you deluded prick, you wouldn't last 2 minutes with a world champion calibur fighter, thats why you're a never was without a record or a name.
You better watch it here, asshole. This forum is for boxing discussion only, Carlos and and mods take note of this troublemaker.
yeah he's pretty humble about it, and if you didn't know he was a pro fighter you wouldn't guess it by how he acts. I mean he's not a pussy or anything, but he isn't as mean as his fighting style suggests.
Yeah, I have a feeling he's a real likable guy. His kids were beautiful. Listen, everyone says things about fighters. Joony and I called Pacquiao a one-trick pony. But it takes hearts and guts to get in there. He looks dedicated to what he does and we wish him the best. Cupey
not only am i about a foot taller than you, but my "gun-fu" skills are exceptional. If you talked this kind of shit to my face, id pistol whip your face into something worth looking at. just stick to boxing discussion, and stop shitting on true pros is all.
one trick pony is one thing, but insinuating that a professional guy is garbage, and that someone on this message board could beat him in a boxing match is just ridiculous. He does need to work on some things, and get back to more boxing I think, but he's an undefeated world champion, as is pacquiao, and I'm sure you wouldn't enter every thread relating to him saying you'd beat his ass. thanks for the good wishes though, I'm sure any guy appreciates support, even if he doesn't see it.
Savannah Gym in Houston, we will lock the door and see who comes out, asshole. I also hold advanced belts in Judo, and can break your neck.
stinger, why do you insist on fighting with forum members? Do you really (like for real, seriously) think that some day, someone from this forum will ever get on a plane and land in your gym to fight you?? :dunno: ain't gonna happen man, so chill out ::
Look, this clown has been on me since day one when he signed on here calling me a schlep amongnst other things, and I have never heard of him before. Carlos asked me about this guy, I gave my opinion (which is an accurate one) and this guy takes it as a personal affront against him and gets personal with me.
I'm going to fly to Puerto Rico and give you a beating if you don't attend the Tito-Roy conference in San Juan Cupey
Dude, relax. This is a boxing message board. We ALL criticize professional fighters for something ro another. We criticize Frietas for quitting, Ruiz for clinching, Cory Spinks for running, Cazaghe for slapping, Hopkins for illegal tactics, Trinidad for handwraps, De La Hoya for cross-dressing, Jermaine Taylor for fighting like an amateur, Euro bums for ducking legitimate American challengers..etc This is nothing new and as fans we have the right to criticize if we want to. What's with these sudden attacks on Karl? Who are you?
valero is no joke and he just might be the best 130/135 pounder in the world. not sure if we'll ever find out.
The stupid thing is, Karl's criticizm is based on how Valero looks like, not how well he actually does, which is very unprofessional and uneducated from a boxing writer. If you don't like the way a guy (even a world champ) fights, that's ok. To say he can't fight because you don't like it, that shows just lack of understanding
