Ok, sure..it seems like Floyd is either going to retire for a while or take a long break. But he's said this before and Cotto may represent 20 million reasons to change his mind.

This is the biggest matchup in boxing now.

I think Floyd stops Cotto also.

Cotto has an awesome jab and unlike De la Hoya and Judah he doesn't get tired late. I think Mayweathers right lead wins him the fight but it would be like 8-4 7-5 and it would be very competitive.

Style wise Williams is clearly Floyds toughest fight. He isn't a big name though and won't bring the Dollars that will make Mayweather want to fight.

Roll with the punches is right. Cotto is the only fight left because he will bring the name that brings the $$$$ that Mayweather would need.

Yup...Cotto vs. Mayweather is the fight that needs to be made..and if Mayweather wins..he can retire..to do whatever the fuck he thinks he going to do.....

I Don't know how to beat Mayweather.....

but at least Cotto unlike Hatton...has dealt with speed in the past..and has done well against those fast guys....Cotto is stronger than Hatton..and throws straighter punches....

but he needs to set up a faster pace against Mayweather...but not too fast a pace that he gets tired..cause if he gets tired...

Yeah, Mayweather need only fight Cotto and then he should retire. He'd have nothing left to do...

Cotto gets tired you might as well turn the fucking tv off or deal with the horror of watching Cotto get beat like a red headed step child.

word...the Mayweather defense seem to be impenetrable..Cotto will have to develop a right hook to the body..

and if you get tooo close....those elbow can be deadly...

but at the end of the day....Miguel Cotto will ram Floyd Mayweather..Aka Money Mayweather.

Yeah but Cortez from the angle he was at couldn't see that punch hitting the rope...and besides the intent was teh important thing anyway...

It was a foul anyway. The reason he went out of the ring was because Fatton threw him out the ring. Then he tried to hit him in the back of the head. It deserved a point deduction.

Cortez has been shot as a ref for years.

Cortez should be known as "fair but old and shitty".

    Cotto Calls Mayweather out......

    dsimon writes:

    NOT!!

Coincidance? Could Cotto not get up to the ring yesterday?

Or does Miguel know that as good as he is right now, he isn't (at least yet) in a class with Mayweather?

Remember.... when hatton called mayweather out Floyd ws ready to retire... surely Cotto's people must be aware of this fact. ahhemm!

This fight would be a classic. I think Cotto can do everything Hatton can do but 10x better and he punches alot harder. As a matter of fact I would make Cotto a slight favorite. I'll Holla 5000

I am sure a fewe people agree so, as a Cotto fan myself, let me ask: How in fuck's name is Cotto, who comes foward slowly stalking, with his head in front of his body, going to fight an accurate puncher, giving that target away like that? Shane caught him there as well Btw.... I can't see a scnerio where Floyd does not catch him all night whenever he feels the need to.

Cotto's footwork is excellent but to slow for Floyd. unless I am missing something (which would not be the first time  ).

Floyd/Cotto isn't a good matchup stylewise. Floyd wins by potshotting in a close decision in a boring fight.

I just think that Cotto is the type of guy that has continued to improve and can fight going forwards and backwards. Not to mention his defense has improved. Whereas with Hatton we all knew how he was gonna fight. We knew that he was gonna try and make it an ugly fight. The problem with Hatton is that he smothered himself last night. As a matter of fact there was only one time that I saw where he was able to create space and landed a teriffic body shot on PBF. Cotto is way more skilled that Hatton and he's a bigger puncher and he's stronger and hit harder. That could spell trouble for PBF in my eyes. I'll Holla 5000

That is the one hope I hold out for Cotto. He has gotten better defensively and he showed mobility and tha ability to adjust against Mosley. I agree about all the things Cotto can do... just not that he could do them to Floyd.

 dsimon did you actually believe MAYWEATHER fought HATTON because casper called him out.....??? Ohh so brave of Mayweather...that mexican at 147 what his name..Antoniata Margarita has been calling Mayweather out for a few years now...when is that fight happening..? :dunno:

Mayweather had Mosley,Cotto and Hatton..he took the the fight with the style better/easier for him to beat....STILL A TOUGH FIGHT...but alot easier than a fast slugger bigger/harder punching slugger than Mosley..

    Nonsense!

Mosley for DAMNED SURE is an easier fight for Floyd than Hatton was. Floyd may not stop Shane, but he'll be in control of teh fight from teh opening bell and win at least 9 rounds.

Mosley said he had a tootache, and basically paved the way for DLH to get the fight as a business move.

Cotto and Arum have turned a fight away on numerous occasions

Margarito let Arum talk him up yet never gave him a spotlight fight and when he did get a slot on HBO he lost.

Nobody in this situation is "calling" ANYONE out, and even if they say it, their histories don't indicate they mean it.
