Alright, I'll do this before I get some sleep. Props to PBF- I could argue all day about the BS I felt at the time of the fight but it matter's not one iota- the better man won. Tis what I get for going with my heart rather than my head. Back to 140 Ricky- and PLEASE murder the shit out of WITTER. We all want you too... Props again to PBF and all his nuthuggers
You are a Brit, and you are a traitor to your countrymen...you transplanted leaf-eatin' Canuck. :flip:
I concur. Just threethings more: One. Hatton did give a good account of himself. He wasn't close of winning, but damned if he didn't give his best and make Floyd feelf uncomfortavle there. Two. Some people here see boxing like schoolyard fighting where our boy beats your boy because he sayd so and so. And that pisses me off. This is a sport, not fighting, god damned. Three. PBF is a very immature and annoying guy (like some of his groupies) but he is one helluva boxer
I picked Hatton. I was wrong. Not only did Floyd beat him (which I could see happening), he KO'd him which I don't think anyone was expecting. Big props to Floyd. Without question he is FOY and I really hope he fights Cotto. Regardless of the outcome, Boxing was a big winner tonight. Hopefully we'll see more of these 'super' matchups in future.
Yes to all of these. Hatton did his best. He didn't have to. He could have stayed at 140 and cleaned up, beating fuck heads like Witter and Rees all day and all night, but credit to him- he stepped up, he almost lost, then he stepped up again against the best and did lose. Anyone who sees shame in this needs their heads examined. Props to both men- at the end of the day, this was a FIGHT, and people who get in the ring to WAR with one another deserve huge props... MTF
My true colours are starting the 'crow' thread- I have no shame in backing a FIGHTING man, whether he wins or not... Except Junior Witter ::
I'm having fun gloating, but I gained more respect to Hatton tonight as he made it very uncomfortable for Floyd for quite a few rounds. Floyd, as usual, started to seperate himself in the second half of the fight but up to that point it was a fairly close context and Floyd wasn't happy at all! I do feel sympathy for Hatton and his fans...but there's no shame in losing to THE BEST!
I honestly didn't see that at all. I thought Floyd controlled the fight from the outset by smothering Hatton in the early rounds and then leading with the right and making RH reset time after time. I never thought there'd be a KO but I had no doubt Floyd would win had it gone the distance and very handily too.
Mayweather was smart..he had a few fight plans..and see which one would apply to the situation he was in....first few rounds..we close..and were fought at close range...then...Mayweather started to move more..and throw less punches...allowing Hatton to wing away...then Hatton started to slow down..and Mayweather started with the next phase..etc...Maywether took 1-2 rounds off that he didn't do shit...
i agree with those that didnt see it as close....most rounds went to Floyd very clearly :dunno: i new the fight was his after a few rounds how lovely to see Mayweather throw punches again
I thought PBF was very gracious and complimentary of Hatton after the fight. The way Hatton called him out after beating Castillo he could have easily not done that and been more like how you like that Ricky. Was that enough action for you mutha fucker. But he was just the opposite.
I predicted Mayweather TKO 11. I was off by one round! Not to sound like Manny, but the fight went exactly as I expected. Hatton had his moments early, but by the mid rounds Floyd started to take control, but by round 8 it was a mismatch. The only surprise to me was that Floyd actually KNOCKED HIM OUT! I expected Floyd to stop him on his feet, or on cuts, but the fact that he was able to KO him was a pleasant surprise.
Can people please stop using that stopping a fight on cuts bullshit. Who in the hell has ever predicted a fight where a guy was stopped on cuts. Can we all just agree to leave that prediction alone. I'll Holla 5000
One small crumb of comfort is that i was right about Floyd initiating the grappling in this fight. Masterful stoppage though.
I'm actually Glad Floyd won.. Hatton is a POS really.. talking all that trash.. mocking the pad routine and saying Floyd can't hit.. ..
