Forget the fights that are already scheduled. Here's the fights that I think should get made.

    PBF/Margarito
    Cotto/Williams
    Mosley/Hatton
    ODH or Forrest/Spinks
    Cintron/ODH or Forrest
    Collazo/Judah

Disagree with most of your choices (except Mosley Hatton...I like that one)

    Judah-Mosley (gatekeepers collide)
De La Hoya - Forrest (loser goes home)
    Cotto-Mayweather
    Cintron-Mayorga

I'd love to see PBF Margarito, personally, but Tony brings nothing to the table at the moment. Margarito needs to fight and beat a NAME before he can be considered in the ring with Boxing's superstar. If Tony can beat either/or Mosley, Judah, Cotto....then he's ready for Floyd.

People are still clamoring for Margarito? Damn.

Margarito and Williams should keep fighting each other for their "undisputed avoided welterweight" crown.

    Calzaghe/Hopkins
    Mayweather/Cotto

wow. That's all I can think of right now. 2007 was a hell of a year for boxing!

If there's someone that needs to fight Williams before getting a shot at Mayweather it's Margarito, not Cotto. He has a loss to avenge here...

Mayweather-Cotto is the #1 fight to be made in the sport.

    Hopkins-Calzaghe will probably happen.

    Others I'd like to see:

    J. Diaz-Casamayor
    Williams-Cintron
    W. Klitschko-Chagaev
    Pavlik-Abraham
    Hatton-Witter

    I'd go with Mayweather-Cotto and Williams-Margarito II.

And I would rather see Forrest fight Roman Karmazin than DLH.

As for Mosley, maybe a fight with Ricardo Mayorga (perhaps at a catch-weight around 150)...not because of any boxing significance, but just because Mayorga's probably gonna get a decent pay day his next fight and I'd like to see Mosley have it (perhaps as his retirement bout).

Ponce de Leon-Penalosa II is one I'd like to see made.

The winner of Cunningham-Huck against David Haye.

    Yep...and a very underappreciated fight.

Both guys are coming off big wins...cruiserweight has been one of the most active divisions at the top recently.

You really needed two posts in this thread to convey your opinion of the division?

Yes. I had to rub it in.

Truthfully...Cruiserweight, for me, will always be filled with guys that are too FAT for Lightheavyweight and too small to compete with the Heavyweights. I just can't take the division seriously...and I admit..that's my own fault and not the division's.

Even when Evander ruled the division, and he was obviously a GREAT talent...I was just waiting for him to move up to the true division and do battle with Tyson and the rest...

I guess next year is my lucky year because two matchups I've been waiting on are finally made, or being made: Pac vs Marquez II, and Calzaghe vs Hopkins.

Cotto vs Williams is a good match up, so I'd like to see that as well, with Mayweather facing the winner.

I'd also like to see the heavyweights unify, not that I have much interest in the division, but for the sake of the sport.

We are on the same wavelength brother! :bears: These are my favorites. I don't think Cotto versus Mayweather woul be much of a fight by comparison to these two... especially Marquez and Pacman.

The fight that MUST happen is PBF against the winner of Diaz-Pac matchup (assuming it's Pac).
Will PBF be able to handle the whirlwind, that is Manny?
Will he be able Manny's toughness, workrate, stamina, and the unstoppable win to win?
Incidentally, that fight will give us an excellent insight into how Duran-PBF or Pryor-PBF fights would unfold.

No way. PBF will dispose of Manny even easier than he did Hatton. Manny's too small.

agree with all except for Diaz vs. Casamayor.....i would've pick Casamayor..but he look completely shot in his last fight...and got a gift decision..he lose 9-3..10-2 and still go the win...

ohhh wait yeah...the hell with any and all heavyweight matchups....they all suck...

Didn't you know that 'lil Floyd' is really a natural 130lber? :eeeek: that's part of why he's so sexy and amazing fighting waaaaaaaay above his natural weight, he deserves a break.

Haye v Mormeck was a barnstormer... :slap:

I'd also throw Enzo Mac in the mix as well- I personally would rather Haye fight (and spaghetify) Mac, in Cardiff, on a Frank Warren card, in front of Warren's other paper champion (Rees) before fighting probably Cunningham in what would be a very, very entertaining match.

    Also for 2008 please Santa...

Hatton v Witter (A must, now)
Calzaghe v Hopkins/Woods/Dawson (really not bothered which- just NO MORE BUMS!)
    Pavlik v Abraham
    Floyd v Cotto or Williams
