if there were a rematch it would end sooner.. I'd bet a lot on that.. Hatton would probably be more aggressive, therefore get stopped sooner.. Floyd not only can out box him, he can out FIGHT him. Ricky should just hang up the gloves and go work at the pub. He can serve pints while re-living the glory days..

Floyd's a bitch!:tease: I'm surprised you're a fan of his LOK. You tend not to like these showboating bitch types.

There are only 2 fighters who need to be KTFO for the betterment of boxing. Pretty Boy Jr and Chavez Jr.

Single handedly? Oh I forgot, DLH and Hatton had nothing to do with that whatsoever? Face the facts, Slyboy! Floyd vs Baldomir = 400K buys. Floyd with Oscar/Hatton = millions of buys. Go figure! Takes 2 to tango.

I just rewatched the Mayweather-Hatton fight for teh first time since watching it live.....

It was actually a very one-sided fight. Hatton won 1 round, 2 at MOST (5 and 7)!!

Floyd would wipe the floor with Cotto, Cintron, Margarito and Mosley...Williams gives him a tough fight though....

    Agreed.

Interesting that in round 8, Hatton got caught with the same punch that Ko'd him 2 rounds later and got dominated in that round but still took the shot flush and stayed upright.

This fight showed us nothing new about Floyd. I certainly knew he would beat Hatton and expected him to do it the way he did. Early potshotting followed by later pounding.

Hatton on the other hand, proved that he can't cope with any type of slick fighter. He also proved he is one dimensional. However, he does have good footwork and speed and style will overwhelm a lot of fighters. His best chance is against other brawlers. DLH would kill him IMO. Malignaggi would give him a hard time too. Witter, well, Witter KO2.

Agreed. I watched the replay last night. HBO(and especially Lederman's) dick sucking of Hatton was terrible! Honestly the only round I gave to Hatton was round 5. Hatton made it an ugly fight for the first 6 rounds which fooled the HBO crew into thinking Ricky was actually winning, when in reality, Floyd was beating him at his own game the whole time.

Floyd whupped Hatton's ass! Judges are usually crap, but in this case they were very accurate in having it a one sided fight in Floyd's favor up until the stoppage. Its the HBO crew who didnt know what they were watching. Apparently those simps didnt realize Floyd was taking control until the 8th when it extra obvious.

    Exactly!

And HOW THE HELL could Harold Lederman give the first round to Hatton??? :eeeek: Lederman was way off.

By the way, did you see Marco Antonio Barrera's reaction to the beating Mayweather was giving Hatton in round 8 (a 10-8 round for Floyd)...watch it again and check it out. Baby face was in utter awe and disbelief! His face was like..... . Hilarious!

Yeah the 1st round was clearly Floyd's. Lederman mighta been fooled by those drunk, ignorant Brit bastards who roared everytime Hatton made contact, even though Ricky rarely landed a goddamn thing.

Mayweather-Hatton was 6-3 at best, bro. With PBF being more and more in command with every passing round.

8-4 was as pretty as it was going to get, and that's being generous.

And Hatton was hurt several times before the KO punch. No doubt it was a perfect shot; but there was a very real chance Hatton was going to be stopped eventually.

As early as the 7th I was thinking "Hatton isn't going to make it."

And I do think Mayweather could fight even better and be more aggressive early.

Hatton gave all he could at 147. He came in light, was superbly conditioned, had much more time to acclimate...and did all he could early.

There is absolutely NO point to a rematch...at all.

PBF's next step must be to go after the real welterweight titleists/contenders.

And he has plenty to do at 147 without considering 160.

    Peace.

I thought Hatton was winning the 10th.

Was the KO punch a trap or setup? Perhaps, but to mE, it looked like Floyd got somewhat lucky with how much effect it had and that he was able to land it in the first place.

Not true. If Hatton wants to cash out, a rematch is his best option.

Did you even see the fight?? Mayweather wasn't potshoting early..:dunno::nono:

Junior Witter wouldn't be ABLE to handle the pressure Hatton applied to Mayweather in the first 6 rounds...withouth A. Fatigue his ass off....B. Getting KOTFO...

I have developed a profound respect for Floyd over the last week. I intend to dedicate this respect to Floyd via Joe Cortez.

I agree. I really only threw the Pavlik name in their for some controversy.

But IMO...Floyd need only fight Cotto. If Either Williams, Cintron or Margarito get another big win (over Shane or Judah would suffice, for example) then he should fight one of them too. But that's it.

He would have nothing left to prove.

I agree that there is no point in a Hatton-Floyd return. the fight wasn't really competitive enough to justify that. Do we all wanna see Hatton brain damaged or something?

Yeah..yeah..one round..but that was it...then everything went back to normal...Mayweather didn't follow it up with more brutality.....even the round of the KO..Mayweather wasn't throwing much..and Hatton was landing much...
