Yesterday's BBC repeat of the Hatton - Mayweather fight saw new World Cruiserweight Champion David Haye talk about a potential match-up with fellow British Cruiserweight titlist, Enzo Maccarinelli:

"People keep telling me to fight Maccarinelli and I say I'm not a cruiserweight [any more]".

"But it's being said so much that I told my manager Adam Booth to do what he can to make it happen".

""It's a fight for the fans. It means little to me as I would bowl him over in a couple of rounds."

Does anyone for a moment think that Warren would let Enzo anywhere near Haye? For a start, at 27 he's at least 6-8 years too young for Maccarinelli. He can also hit back, which is another negative. Also, Warren has already had his 'one risky fight in 2 years' when Joe found himself with no choice but to fight Kessler.

Can't see it, personally, BUT- it's nice to see Haye talking sensibly about fighting other cruisers instead of dreaming about being the next Holyfieldand it's also good to see someone looking to unify a division off the back of a great win (v Mormeck), instead of looking to leech off some bums for a while.

    WAR HAYE!! :nono: :blobbox:

    Really? Why so?

You are not alone; I know OC is wanting to bet me cold, hard cash in favour of Mac if this fight happens...

I commend Haye for the comments he made after the Hatton-Mayweather fight, where, basically, he said Joe Cortez is a cunt.

After that, well, Enzo is better than people feel he is. He is an annoying taff bastard, but Haye is pretty fucking annoying and all.

Maybe they can beat the shite out of each other.

Yup. Can't remember what the wager was but I was backing Enzo alright. But if Haye starts getting concessions like catchweight or some shite you can fuggetabout it. Its 200 or its not on.

 I doubt he will bet you any such thing. OC is just selling wolf tickets in the expectation and likelihood that it will never come off.

He did, and he basically repeated them again yesterday- called him all kinds of incompetent's and everything

We've has the Enzo discussion before- there is no real way of knowing how good or otherwise Mac is, because he is protected like all of Warren fighter's. Hell, it was difficult to know how good Calzaghe was until Warren stopped the horseshit recently and put him in with LIVE opponents.

A KD fest is definatly on the cards, though, either way... :cheer:

When these guys return to their respective corners after the end of the first round, I will believe this fight is happening and PM you accordingly OC...

    But, provisionally, 200lb is right.

On the BBC show at 1pm was it?? Fair dinkums to him.

Oh I agree. I think Enzo can bang a bit, you know he will be well conditioned and probably won't quit. You can tell that from him regardless of who he has fought or hasn't fought. And that might just be the foil.

    Certainly.

If I believed for 2 minutes that Haye had a chin, even a Cruiser chin, I would put the Ranch on David. cos the rest is there.

But getting floored by Lolenga Mock, floored by the french dude, flat out beat up by Carl Thompson....I have to ask myself.

Now...he says it was the weight- maybe it was. But thats another story.

The punches by Mormeck weren't even that good and haye completely lost his legs for a bit. his chin is certainly not good. he has heart and is fun to watch though.

It was, and indeed so...he pretty much went off on one and called him everything except a cheat. Complaining about how it was hard enough to fight the P4P champ without having to fight an extra man etc. Livened up my Sunday Lunch, for sure.

Sums him up almost perfectly, although I don't think his chin is as bad as is made out.

Don't get me wrong- it's his weakest trait, but it isn't as hideous as some say. At the higher weights, guys just get caught right and go down. That's just the way it is sometimes.

But Haye generally seems to get back up and dish it back...

His chin was also horrible against a big tall puncher in Gurov. That didn´t stop Haye from knocking Gurov out wit the first punch. That´s all it will take. Land the first punch and Enzo is done, now if Enzo lands first...

People under estimate the improvement in Enzo and the boy can punch. Plus is one cocky c**t. Enzo would be all over that glass chin.

This is fair enough- there is no doubt that he seems to improve as each fight progresses.

HOWEVER, I'm not sure that his CHIN has improved all that much either, and both guys are cocky SOB's. Two chinny bangers going at it would be my description, and when that happens, I tend to side with the chinny, more skilled banger.

    That would be Haye

he just said that he's not a cruiserweight anymore, in that quote. Ddoesen't sound like he's trying to unify anything to me.
