who do you think he's gonna be fighting, Fedor???

You telling me Mayweather couldnt KO Jens Pulver, Cub Swanson, Kenny Florian, Joe Stevenson, Jeff Curran???

Come on Whiskey, Mayweather is one of the best boxers EVER, to think that he does have enough pop to KO someone his size who is basically amatuerish in their boxing skills, while wearing 4oz gloves is crazy

If Floyd can somehow find a way to keep an MMA fight on the feet, he's borderline unbeatable

With that kind of one shot quickness, he'd be KO'ing guys left and right

I'm not talking about Fedor's deal with M1. He did the right thing signing with them with the money offered. I'm moreso referring to the shape he's in. Have you seen his pics? It's the Ricky Hatton thing, ballooning up badly during off-season. Add to that his inactivity.
As for Floyd/Cuban, no comment. It's all crap just like most things reported out there. The MMA market isn't big enough to attract a superstar boxer. It's like a Hulk Hogan in his prime making millions of dollars in the WWF suddenly signing with some random Japan Shoot Wrestling promotion for peanuts and a style of fighting he doesn't employ.

Floyd doesn't have the discipline to learn MMA. He's been boxing all his life, not easy to make a transition so quickly.

I agree....I dont think it should be a quick transition.....I think he should put in at least of year of straight grappling and kickboxing before even thinking of getting into MMA, but I think if he really wanted to, he's got the tools to be very succesful at it....Do i think it will happen, nah, but it certainly could

 So he's going to lock himself in a gym and start learning MMA for the next 2 or so years when at the same time he can be making tens of millions against Cotto, Williams, etc in a boxing ring?
Bad business move and a waste of time for a fighter whose peak period is right now.

He's too much of a pure boxer, that's the problem. A lot of his talents just won't transfer over to MMA.

incredible hand and foot speed, great vision, balance.....it transfers fine.....of course he's too much of a pure boxer, because he is, well, a pure boxer.....he's got the abilities....If he truly wanted to succeed in MMA, he would

None of those fights make any sense other then maybe Jens Pulver.

Floyd in MMA will never happen, but lets say it did. For the money Floyd would want, you couldn't put him in there with someone who is not a 'name' fighter. And while Pulver isn't on anyone's P4P list (although he's finally back to fighting at his natural weight, that could change), he has main evented, and is still fresh in everyone's mind from his stint as a TUF coach.

That being said, Pulver would destroy Floyd 101 times out of 100.

I don't want to hear about Floyd's boxing skills, because Jens is a smart enough, and experienced enough fighter to make sure it doesn't become a boxing match.

But then again, this is all wasted effort, because it'll never happen.

 Didn't Jens get KTFO from a series of punches from Joe Lauzon in like 40 seconds on the feet a year back?

Floyd should face off against Kurt Angle in a 'We keep talking a lot of shit about MMA, but we'll never actually step into the Octogon' match.

He wouldn't have to fight as long or land as many punches as he would in boxing.

I think Floyd needs to stay where he is at.
The only boxer that transitioned to a "wrestling" fight successfully back in the day was Jack Dempsey, and Cowboy Luttrell was wearing boxing gloves in their fight in which "The Manassa Mauler" scored a particularly brutal knockout over Cowboy, fracturing his jaw and knocking him out of the ring for a 100 count.

There is not an MMA fighter out there that will let the fight with PBF last more than 5 seconds standing. Unless he develops a great takedown defense, he will be on his ground in seconds, vulnerable to GnP or submission.

I don't think hell do it. Stick to what you know Floyd.

There is no running and sticking your back to an opponent in MMA, there is 0.0 chance of him doing this.

Not really. This is the first time Floyd said he WAS SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING fighting in MMA. He still didn't say he would he said hes considering it.
