Both of those guys would have given Carlos hard tests.........but still, those guys aren't even close to the echelon of great middlewweights, let alone all time greats. Like I previously said....Monzon's best wins came against smaller guys in Griffith and Napoles, who aren't even close to being mentioned in a P4P sense.
Bro; both of those guys were slam dunk IBHOF Hall of Famers first ballot, and they are both in the World Boxing Hall of Fame as well. Very few boxing experts would agree with your statement about them not being pound for pound. IMO, Napoles was the Greatest Welterweight ever, and I am talking Robby. Griffith was a 6 time world champion and top 15-20 fighter ever, a magnificent fighting machine, and a real gentleman as well.
Those guys were great fighters.....granted. But Monzon's best victories were against Griffith and Napoles...both past their primes and both at weights higher than their natural weight. Monzon was great...but you are making him out to be something other than what he was. That is all I'm a sayin'
hatton loses one fight to the best fighter in the world, in what we'll now call a stylistic problem (as he's looked bad against every pure boxer he's faced) and all of a sudden any jimmy from out of the woodwork would beat him. Locche was a poor man's Joel Casamayor, without the cheating.
he looks like the typical flat faced kind of italian that the mob uses and your the cracker you pasty ass potato
This is just ignorant. Stupid, plain and stupid. You might as well argue that Marvin Hagler's best wins were over big lightweights/welterweights (Hearns and Duran), because that's equally stupid. Monzon's best wins were over: Bennie Briscoe Nino Benvenuti Denny Moyer Emile Griffith Jose Napoles Rodrigo Valdez Yeah, you can be an idiot, and ignore his wins over Briscoe, Benvenuti, Moyer and Valdez, but that's just as dumb as ignoring Hagler's wins over Minter, Antuofermo, Mugabi and Monroe.
Dude. You're really, really stupid. Do you ever watch fights, or do you just read about them on Fightbeat? Locche was easily one of the five or ten greatest jr. welterweights of all time, not some "Jimmy from out of the woodwork."
You dummy, Monzon was more indigenous than Italian, . You think all Argentinians are Italian? :notallthere:
DC Pizza Delivery Boy used to think that RAUL fucking BALBI {the guy that Leo Dorin drew with and eventually beat} was an Italian. This is Raul Balbi But hey, if there are some Italians there, and there is a vowel at the end of the guys name, he just has to be Italian, right??
Many Latin Americans have Arab...I'm a boner who happens to be one fourth Lebanese....half a million of them fuckers migrated to Mexico during the 1800s and early 1900s. I'm sure Argentina had a similar Arab migration.
:crafty: Well when posed the question, "Are Italians/ Romanians/Spanish/Portugese/Greeks/Armenians .......white?" one must judge on an individual basis,...for example, Calzaghe, Spadafora, Manfredo, Arnoutis, Gevor, Castillejo - definitely all white,.......however,... Malignaggi, Gatti, Bute, Abraham,.. clearly have genetics that have evolved through warmer southern climates, they would all NOT look out of place, waving lebanese flags in an Arab posse at a football game,...:crafty: some blue-bloods may be hurt at this fact, though some may be delighted because frankly when it comes to boxing in America (who the fuck wants to be classified as white?) it's " cooler" not to be...:crafty:
As a Mexican friend of mine once pointed out to me after learning I was part Lebanese...the Lebanese and Latin mix very nicely...(Shakira, Salma Hayek, Yamila Diaz-Rahi, etc.)
You mean like that other MW in the 80s who beat WWs Hearns and ex lightwieght Duran right ?. Or that middleweight whose best wins are Trinidad and DLH right ?
