I don't wanna point fingers, so I'll just point a plastic hoof at the culprit.

A little digging uncovered this beauty to go with it.

"Leonard had faster hands than Hopkins, threw more punches, had a more crowd pleasing style (I'm a HUGE fan of Ray Leonard), but Bernard is actually the better fighter. Bernard is more elusive than Leonard was, smarter and honestly...even more versatile.

You have to look past how pleasing a style is and the flash and dazzle and just look at the substance.

    Whitaker is up there too..."

Its a wonder this poor thing knows how to breathe

Sugar Ray Leonard is pretty old. Plus, I think that ancient 70's and 80's footage just speeds him up to make him look faster then he really is.

No way Sugar Ray could hang with a modern gladiator like Bernard Hopkins. Just too many electrolytes in B-Hops diet. :nono:

Yeah, like Leonard wouldn't benefit from modern advantages as Hopkins does???

Leonards caveman brain couldn't even comprehend the modern techniques B-Hop is employing. :nono:

Lets face it. Bernard has evolved into a superior fighting machine. He throws punches at angles the old-timers could only dream about (if they actually had the mental capabilities to dream, way back then).

I disagree that Bernard has more natural ability than SRL (not even close), but I think he's the better overall fighter. I don't think that that's such an outrageous statement.

Hey...I respect your opinion to the contrary, because we're talking about two great fighters here.

    It's subjective.

To me Bernard is the better fighter, although I prefer Leonard's style, exceitement and accomplishments more.

Bernard is a very intelligent fighter, has great defense, movement, can be a master boxer when he wants to be...can infight and be dirty at another time...great ring generalship etc.

When I look at Hopkins at his best I appreciate his talents more than i do alot of fighters.

Hopkins is awesome because he's battered smaller fighters his entire career. I hope Arum gives some of these big name midgets an incentive to move up 2 or 3 divisions and face Margarito, so that he can become 'great' aswell. Let's see who could be on Margarito's resume to match Hopkins stunning victories over "Tito and De La Hoya", ....Marquez?, ....Pacquioa?,...Juan Diaz..... all delicious possibilities..

In terms of media attention, Hopkins is a dud compared to Leonard. And I guess much of that has to do with their styles. Hopkins is boring as f*ck with an ugly as hell style.

Long story short: Leonard proved that he was one of the greatest fighters of all time. Hopkins didn't. Top 50, pound-for-pound? Sure. Top 20? No. Leonard? Yes. End of story. Horseface thinks otherwise, but he's stupid, and no one really cares about his opinion.
