I'm still a fan and believer in Paulie. I honestly think ring rust played a role in his struggle tonight. He clearly wasnt as sharp as he was vs Ndou. I still think that at his best he can provide problems for Hatton, and Witter.
We're both hanging out with a bunch of guys, talking about boxing on a Saturday night. I'm going through a divorce. What's your excuse for being a loser?
come on, in all seriousness paulie isnt on witters level and after seeing hatton ko'd by a counter hook, youd have to favour witter who would be landing counters all night.
You sound like a broken record, there is no basis to state that Witter or that bum Paulie would beat Ricky. Hatton has one defeat to the best guy around at the moment. The fatman takes both of these guys out with ease.
Nobody said Kostya or Castillo was shot until they fought hatton. Witter or Paulie would not have won against Kostya and Castillo would give both a good fight.
Tszyu, no. Castillo, yes. I picked Fatton to stop him for that very reason, I felt he was shot after his lackluster performances against Rolando Reyes and Ngoudjo. Seemed to me going into that fight that the wars with Chico took a lot out of him, which proved correct. I don't think Witter or Paulie would have won against Tszyu, but I do think they could have beat that shell of what once was Jose Luis Castillo who Fatton fought. And as I said, I didn't consider Tszyu shot. Nor did I look at that fight as Hatton "taking him out with ease." What I saw was a dead even fight going into the 9th round, with the turning point in the bout coming via a deliberate Fatton left hook to balls (:kick: ), after being dropped with a borderline shot to the midsection (:dunno: ), that the obviously biased hometown ref (:cheer: ) didn't care to acknowledge as a legit shot or a foul ( ).
Come on dude hatton beat Kostya when no one game him a chance and you admit that Paulie or Witter would have not won that fight. I didnt think Castill was shot even though he was awfull against Ngoudjo. I think Hatton V's Paulie/Witter will be good fights but the Fatman is clear favorite in both.
Listen man, Hatton-Tszyu was a sloppy, clinch and foul filled fight with little to no replay value. Hatton beat Tszyu...unimpressively in my eyes, with a little bit of help from the hometown ref. I did and many others did too. Max Kellerman after the end of Hatton-Castillo : "Those who suggested Castillo was a shot fighter going into this fight, appear to have been right..." Clear favorite? Cool. But to suggest he beats them with "ease" is silly to me. About as ironic as the location of the poster posting this.
Dont give me that home bollox refs/judges in the states are the most biased in the accross the globe. Fact of the matter is Hatton beat Kostya who was the #1 at the time. This makes Hatton the #1. Witter/Paulie have done nothing on that level. Witter wants hatton so he can afford some crab meat and Paulie is calling him out just like any young pup would to the top guy.
How more biased can you get than letting a hometown fighter get away with loading up and shooting a blatant foul to the balls? We're not talking about accomplishments. We're talking about a potential fight between Fatton and Malignaggi/Witter. And I've seen nothing from Hatton since 2004 that he takes anyone out with "ease." Cool.
How do you know that, this is boxing and shit happens you gotta deal with it. Money mayweather gave hatton all the forearm he could chew on but Im not complaining as Hatton lost to the better guy. Respect where it is due. I guess we will have to wait on see how these fights turn out.
Are you honestly questioning whether or not Hatton intentionally fouled Tszyu in the 9th round? Forearm to throat or hook to the balls? Yeah, fair trade. Karma's a biotch, huh. Yup.
3:00 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XX695yh9FU But yeah, it's not a tickling contest, is it? :nono: Especially when check hooks are allowed.
That's stupid. I could tell you some stories about fights in Africa, Asia and Germany that would make Dave Parris blush.
I don't care how rusty you are you still throw your right hand. I don't think i can remember a fighter who threw so few right hand punches.
^^^Thats what ring rust does. It gets you out of your game and takes your sharpness off. I still think Paulie is a very good fighter and at his absolute best, he can outbox Ricky Hatton or Junior Witter.
