http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/7179677.stm Somehow I dont think so.... predictions....? Chagaev UD.
He looked impressive against complete scrubs but after stepping on the next level he has struggled. Outpointed by Williams and espaced with a very narrow decison over Sprott. His best win is a points verdict over totally disinterested Williams in their rematch
Yeah Williams on his day would have taken Skelton out. But Matt is a tough SOB I'll be curious to see how he deals his Chagaev.
I still shudder when I think of the 48 minutes of my life I wasted watching Skelton fight Sprott last time out...:shit: I like Skelton, who seems like an honest, hard working type, but he is overmatched here IMO and will do well to see the final bell MTF
The english HW are terrible to watch, and you'll never get that time back.:: I think World level is just a step to far for Skelton but he is a tough SOB.
isnt skelton like 40 some years old? he looked sloppy as hell from the danny williams fights and that was a couple of years ago or so.
He is, though he didn't start boxing until he was 35. He was in K1 before that. In his last fight (v Sprott), he looked fat, ponderous to the point of stationary and physically unable to throw a single punch per round. He only won because, incredibly, Sprott was even worse :eeeek: He would need to land the fantasy shot to win next week...
yet another white germany-based boxer against a sub-par black british boxer. "ja, ve vill get zee big scary bleck english beasts, it looks good on ze poster, like a big monster, like ze beowulf und grendel."
dsimon writes: :: :: :bears: MTF that got more than a chuckle the way you worded that. Skelton is a tough kid and he has grit. Technically to say he stood in against Williams should count for something but it doesn't because Danny is inconsistant and on his bad days he is quite bad.
The only way the heavyweight division could get worse is if Skelton won this fight. Christ he is awfull to watch. Chagaev should beat him easily.
