Woods is one of the most underrated and improved WC's in boxing IMO, and I'd expect him to beat Briggs.

 

briggs is arguably better, but he also has the loser factor. not sure who wins.

I think Woods is underrated....I thought that even when he took on Roy Jones long ago.

He's not a PxPer, but he's a very solid boxer with underrated toughness.

And Briggs has a great right hand and I'm a fan - but he's not exactly a technical wizard either.

This is a very competitive, even fight and a legit scalp for either man.

That sums him up really, a very solid guy who does the fundamentals pretty well and is teak tough, I was delighted when Woods won the title, I'd also be happy to see Briggs pick up a belt, should be good to watch

I also picked/bet Dawson to beat Adamek. :bears: Anyways, Briggs will beat Woods, no doubt about it in my mind. Woods has a little skill but besides that is all around average.

Sound summation.

I've defended Woods on this board before. He's heavily underrated because:

a) He's not American
b) A green version of Woods lost to Jones, which is quite often the only time people have seen him.

He's improved a lot from then- his fundamentals have improved greatly and he has better than average power in both hands. He's also developed into a wily customer and is very difficult to tag and/or hurt.

He may not be a top 10 P4P-er, but IMO he isn't a million miles away by any strecth of the imagination. I would list him in any top 15 list I was required to draft.

I rate Briggs, and the equalizer in the right is a worry, but I think Woods will beat him. Woods v Dawson would be something I'd love to see... opcorn:

 

I have seen a lot more of Woods than most Americans I got some of his fights before Jones and more after. I saw the following...

Petre, if you wanna actually step into General, why don't you do it without the power trip. Plenty of idiots talk like Rubio in here and they don't require a smug attitude like you've showed here, in warning them in a thread.

It's also weird how this is like the only time you do show up on this boxing site...and its still not to talk boxing.

As I said before, I won't vouch for any ban of Rubio while there are the other types here, which you do little about because they don't annoy YOU. It appears quite clear wh you have an issue with Rubio, so I suggest you work it out with him, because banning him isn't an option right now, IMO.
