    Well I just started running some, nothing heavy, just 4 miles or so in the morning. Anyways I'm wondering if there are any good sites out there that would cover proper technique, training etc.

    Remember, running distance is good to build up some endurance, but to really push yourself, sprint. Boxing is more like running a 100 dash than it is like running a marathon. Try sprinting 15-20 yards for 2-3 minutes with a 1 min. break in between.

    The technique comes naturally if you do it long enough. I used to run 3 miles a day, and I guess it took probably a couple months before I could do it real efficiently.

    Now when I run, its as easy as watching TV.

    I agree with this 100%. When I was competitive swimmer, we did a lot of long distance running in the early season. Along the way, some studies came out indicating that lung capacity is actually developed better with hard sets of wind sprints. With wind sprints, I also believe you'll be developing white twitch fibers as well, which is good as it applies to quickness and reflexes. In the final analysis, a mix of both is good.

    4 miles is pretty heavy running.
    I wouldn't do anymore than that if you are boxing amateur. In fact 4 is what I used to run on the long course when I boxed for the USAF. We'd alternate every other morning between the short course and long course. Short course was a mile and a half followed by wind sprints.

    Amen, Intervals is the bomb. Run and sprint. I love to do them on a Local HS track. It's that Rubbery surface thats easy on my old knees and shins and back. I'll run a mile then I will do 100m walk 300m run 100m walk 2 run one.. That's the shiznet

    I do that too. Sprinting and then jogging. and alternating. I do that at the end of my run. Its really good for building up your anerobic ability.
