I just saw it on On Demand. It was pretty interesting. Especially regarding the personal life of both fighters.

they talked about both relationships with their fathers. Complete oposites in Tito with his father and Roy with his father.

The thing about Tito is that he wants to comeback because he misses the atention and because of all his fans in PR always want him to comeback.

Roy on the other hand comes across like he can still turn back the clock and do something big. I think Roy is in denial.

At the end of the show Roy said that it was Tito who asked for this fight and not him. :dunno:

Roy still looked damn fast in them clips of him sparring. Tito has no chance of winning this fight. He looked like a robot when he trained.

The countdown was cool. Something I learned here. Trinidad Jr never wanted to retire after the Wright loss. It was Trinidad Sr who wanted to retire and Jr retired with him. Tito said he refused to fight without his dad with him.

Tito is a cool guy. Im kinda sad that he is in the posistion he is in on Saturday. A cool guy like that with 0 chance of winning. This fight shouldn't really even be taking place.

what pisses me off is that trinidad sr. stated that he had nothing else to teach trinidad and he's can't help him out in the corner because he doesn't know that much....and then he's back on saturday in Tito's corner, most likely without a clue or a fucking gameplan, let alone a plan B. I mean, he's a good physical trainer for Trinidad because it's his son and he know how to get him in tip top shape for his fights, but Trinidad could've used a strategist in his corner, or an asistant trainer to help him with the defense, or to learn how to watch fights and develop a fight plan. His father is not any of those things. Next saturday, Trinidad may need more than a paternal figure in his corner.

Let's not forget that Roy is also far from his prime and far from an elite fighter. That is what makes this fight somewhat interesting.

Roy has all the advantages but he hasn't looked impressive in years himself.

Sure he hasn't. In their primes Roy was better. Both guys have slipped so Roys still out in front.

Did you see Roys insane speed in them sparring clips. oy has never had problems hitting anybody. He will hit Tito whenever he feels like it.

Tito had trouble hitting Nard and Winky. Hes gonna have trouble hitting Roy Jones.

Add Titos inactivity and fighting at a weight he shouldn't be at and this fight is a mismatch.

It was a good countdown. Roy still looks really fast. I think there are alot of factors against Tito but I also sense something else here..

I think Roy is hungry. I think Roy is still searching for something. I think he WANTS this for personal reasons, whereas Tito is simply here because he misses the limelight and the attention. I think when it comes down to it, Tito is just collecting a pay check, and Roy is looking to make a statement. Not that we'll be able to tell much, because I don't expect Tito to really test Roy. But because Roy is out to make a REAL comeback, and Tito is simply trying to stay in the spot light, Roy will have the right mind set going into this fight, and Tito will concede the moment Roy begins to frustrate him.

I think it might be interesting early. But once Roy dials in, Tito will look even slower than he really is and he'll take a beating. I just hope that Don Felix is quick to throw in the towel the moment things start to get ugly.

Jesus, did Tito even train for this fight? It barely looked like it from the Countdown show. Just Tito glad handing everyone in Puerto Rico. Even with a shot Jones Jr. this is going to be ugly.

I have to talk out of both sides of my mouth here. What happened in the Winky fight was disgraceful...when you fight a southpaw, there is a reason you are supposed to have your lead foot outside and Tito never did. It was frustrating, not because I like Tito better, but because I would have liked to have seen a more competitive fight.

    That said...

Tito has fought 40 fights. Tito Sr has trained other fighters as well as being a pro fighter himself. They have both lived boxing for years and years. It's implausible/impossible that Sr. can't come up with gameplans and/or Jr. even needs someone else to come up with them. I can't imagine they need a 'strategist' or anything else. Tito just needed to fight differently. For whatever reason, he didn't.

But Look @ their LAST Fights...

Roy Looked Fairly DECENT N his Last Bout, whereas Tito Looked AWFUL...AND, Roy's Last Bout was July of '07...Tito's Last Bout was WHEN???:dunno: ...

& that's the BIGGEST Reason why REED Sees this Fight as a MISmatch...Even a PRIME, ACTIVE Tito would B Much MUCH SLOWER than a Past Prime Roy Jones...

But Now we're Supposed to Believe that a PAST PRIME, INACTIVE Tito is Gonna Muster Up Enough OR have the TIMING to Catch Roy Jones w/a Homerun Shot???...

Winky Wright Stood RIGHT IN FRONT of Tito for 12 Rounds & DIDN'T Get Nailed Flush 1nce...Roy's QUICKER than Winky, More MOBILE & Comes from Different Angles...We ALL Know Tito has to SET his Feet to Deliver his Bombs & Roy Jones WILL NOT Afford Tito that Opportunity...

Roy definitely seems like he has something to prove with this fight. When I found out he was making less money then Trinidad for this fight, I knew he wanted to make a statement. Usually people would hate on Jones, saying things have to be on his terms for him to take a fight. It doesn't seem to be the case now.

Tito looked shot when he came back and fought Mayorga after 2 years off. It's been an even longer layoff and Roy is a thousand times the fighter Mayorga is. Tito is dead.

I don't see why he deserves much credit for taking less money.

Jones doesn't have that many big fights available to him, at least not ones he'd probably accept.

It's not like there's a laundry list of big money fighters willing to come out of retirement and move up well beyond their best weight just to take what is expected to be a beating.
