He says the Cotto-Gomez fight isn't a certainity yet. He hasn't even discussed it with HBO. He says he'd be willing to (consider) making Cotto-Cintron if Cintron where to vacate his title. Arum owns Clottey and he says unless Cintron vacates he has to fight Clottey next. He also said he was speaking to the Judah's about fighting Margarito which he wanted to add to the card of who ever Cotto's fighting next. He's planning on making Cotto-Margarito for July and wants Cotto to fight 4x's this year. :bears: Here's the link to the interview: http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article14670.html I love the part where Cintron is locked in against Clottey. Cintron's going to get clobbered again. Zab should pass on the Margarito fight. I have some career advice for him: a.) don't take any more big fights. Take a couple more tuneups and get some confidence unless you're looking to cash out for the rest of your career and be a gate keeper/name on a resume'. b.) If you care about your legacy at this point you should consider a move down to 140. You're just too little for 147.
I love the part where he basically says Cintros HAS to fight Clottey but if he were Cotto's mandatory Cotto would just vacate. It's clear Arum is looking for a soft touch for Cotto. It will be Gomez, I have no doubt.
That's not what he said. All he said was that he couldn't ensure a Cintron-Cotto match with Clottey being guaranteed the winner unless Cotto agreed to it as well.
Whether Kermit the frog fights Clottey, or Cotto next he'll still lose regardless. Only against Clottey he'll lose by decision, and against Cotto he gets stopped.
Well once Clottey beats Cintron he should face the winner of Cotto-Margarito, unless of course Floyd is ready too.
This is what he said. GL: If Cotto would win unification bout against Cintron and want to keep the IBF title he'd have to fight Clottey next. BA: "He would probably give up the IBF title because he doesn't want it anyway."
