More people calling out Cotto than the "real" man @ 147, Floyd. Can't really blame them though, most of them are already wasting their breath calling out Cotto, with Floyd they're really wasting their breath.

Tell Paul to get in line and STFU.

no. Floyd just isn't the "real" man anymore - that's why nobody's calling him out.

What worries me about Williams is his size! He is one big welterweight. Isn't he 6'2???? How the hell can he make 147 without killing himself??? It's almost a unfair advantage.

Williams is even bigger than Bernard Hopkins for fucks sakes!!!!

    Bernard Hopkins:

    Height 6'1
    reach 75'

    Paul Williams:

    height 6′ 2″
    reach 82“

If I was cotto I wouldnt fight Williams! He's too big!:nono:

Floyd only beat the real Champ at lightweight and welterweight. He fought Hatton at 147, a weight Ricky does not hold a title. Are you counting Oscar at 154 as a "real" champ?

He beat the real champ at Junior Lightweight too and I guess REED counts Hatton too even though Floyd beat him a division higher than his division.

no one's calling out Floyd because they know it's not realistic for them to get a shot unless they have something $ignificant to offer.

    You overrate size.

More to the point, you overrate size as it applies to Williams. Williams is a very good fighter, but he's doesn't have any 'unfair advantage', nor is he 'too big' for Cotto.

Well, let me put it this way...I'll put up $100 on Cotto to your $100 on Williams if they fight each other while both are still undefeated. Williams might be 'too big' for Cotto, but I doubt it.

Garbage article. Williams at this stage should never be compared to Liston, Foreman or Tommy Hearns.

You're the one who compared Cintron to Ray Robinson and Marvin Hagler in another thread.

I would pick Cotto too, in fact I think Cotto would stop Williams. Williams is really the flavor of the month (or year) here, he's pretty good but I think too much is made of his "victory" over Margarito. This fight could very well have been a draw.

Size matters! Williams can essily stick the jab in Cotto's face all night long and there is not much Cotto can do about it. The reach advantage is too much.

Funny how people on this board hate Margarito and praise Williams. You'd think Williams dominated Margarito, but no. He barely won the fight.

Like it or Not, Floyd (Who's NOT a TRUE Welter Himself) BEAT Hatton...& Hatton is the "Real" Champ @ 140...

    Please DON'T Suggest to REED that a Floyd-Hatton Bout @ 140 would B ANY Different, Cause it WOULDN'T B:nono: ...

& Genaro Hernandez was Most CERTAINLY the "Real" Champ @ 130 when Floyd Waxed him...

Williams doesn't fight that tall and he uses more a flicking jab than a ramrod hearns like jab. I don't think Cotto would have much trouble with it, in fact I wouldn't be surprised to see Cotto win the battle of jabs.

It would be different, because it would have been for THE 140 pound title. Not that the outcome would be any different. You can't claim Floyd won the 140 pound title.

i'm amused by all this real champ talk.

personally, i dont really believe in such thing called a real champ. the last real champ i remember was bernard at 160 and calzaghe at 168 after he beat kessler.

if you go by lineage, floyd is clearly the real champ. cotto won a belt that was vacated after baldomir beat judah. floyd beat baldomir (who should've had all 3 belts).

cotto beat some unknown guy named quintana to win a belt. he then beat urkal, then judah, a guy who floyd and baldomir had beaten. he then beat mosley, who's had one significant win at 147 in YEARS.

their resume at 147 so far have been even i suppose.

Yes, they're going by lineage. That's their argument.
