I think Hopkins will be a super hall of famer and not just a regular hall of famer.

You're the one making stupid statements like Jones vs Calzaghe is as meaningful as Hopkins vs Calzaghe. I'm not the one looking stupid in this thread.

Yeah and you compared Kermit Cintron to Sugar Ray Robinson and you also think Cintron is on the same level as Cotto ...
And I make stupid statements ...

Bro , you are proping Hops up to far here. A fighter like Hanshaw who Roy just beat might be able to beat the current version of Tarver and or a fat blown up past prime Winky Wright.
For some reason you just don't see things like that or maybe you just want to ignor them.

Hops is 42 , who gives a shit out of Roy or Hops fights Calzaghe.

a reasonable offer was presented to hopkins to fight calzaghe a several years back when hopkins beat tito.

it was hopkins who backed out of that fight.

Give it up bro! Find my post where I compared Cintron to SRR. I also said in the other thread Cotto has a superior resume to Cintron's. My point was that neither of them is the true welterweight Champion.

What do you have against meaningful fights taking place? Really?

    Who wins these fights ?

Hanshaw Vs 38 year old sluggish Tarver ?

Big ass 185lb Hanshaw Vs fat , blown up , old Winky - who can't hurt him ?

    I agree.
I just hope you see my point though. Even though Tarver had Roy's number , that doesn't scratch out the fact that he was near 40 years old , sluggish , and never great to begin with - more or less a B-class fighter his whole career - then he fights Hopkins.
Winky is old and a former 154 fighter that was fat , old , and sluggish fighting Hopkins at Lt. Heavy. I would say most decent Lt Heavies would have handled him , including Hanshaw who would have came into the ring at 185lbs easy.
IMO those two wins don't make Hopkins "the man" at 175. They aren't much more or even more at all - credible then Roy's win over a young undefeated Hanshaw who seemed to be a very rugged guy.

Chad Dawson only has that belt because Tarver dumped it to fight Johnson.

I understand what you're saying. You're not interested in old man fights basically. Neither am I really, but I do have a little interest in seeing if Calzaghe can back up his smack talk.

I would not hesitate to pick Johnson if they fought again. Tarver is done, him and Lacy would have been a pick em, and you almost have to go with Lacy just because he is a lot younger and probably has more left in the tank.

Tarver would have beaten the shit out of Lacy. lacy made the right decision holding off on fighting Tarver.

It would be fucked up if Calzaghe lost to one of them cause now either Roy or Bernard would be able to claim themselves as the KING at 170 or something which is basically the same as beating Calzaghe in his own house , the weight class that rules 168 ...
If that happens , it throws in a monkey wrench in things because now everyone is stuck waiting on two old ass men that should be retired anyway ...

This is all speculation- has the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight been cancelled??

The sick thing is that it looks like Joe probably was the real deal, but he wasted his prime fighting no-one, courtesy of Warren and his usual habit of protecting his boys. What a shame.

I agree, though, that a fight with RJJ at this stage means absolutely nought.

I am, easy fight for Tarver which is why he wanted it instead of the Dawson fight (where he would get clobbered).

Lacy is more shot than Tarver is though. Plus Tarver is just a better fighter than Lacy anyway. Jeff would have stood virtually no chance against Tarver, and he knew that which is why he's not fighting him.

And what exactly is 39 year old , B-class to begin with , Tarver these days ?
And What is an old soft Winky wright fighting at Lt Heavy these days ?

For some reason , do you not understand this ?

Are you telling me that old ass , small , weak punching Winky fought Hanshaw at 175lbs , he would beat Hanshaw's ass ?
Is this what you are saying ?

Bernard is one of those viscious old bastards. Joe is gonna get stretched in the good ole USA!! Those viscious old men are nothing to fuck with. Give Bernard his geritol and make sure he keeps in shape and you can bet that joe is gonna catch a few shots to the chops! Joe won't dictate the pace with Ole Bernard either! Bernard will close the gap and beat him up on the inside. Then Bernard will use his cod liver oil (in his geritol) to give Joe a Liver shot!

Joe's big foible is that he is totally used to and dependent on dictating the pace of a fight. He has never had to fight a guy who would not let him do so. Kessler bitched out the same way.

If Roy fights Calzighe I will be rooting for him. The thing about Roy is that he seems to be getting smarter.... he knows that to beat Joe he has to try to Knock him out. If he trains to do this who knows? He will have just come off a fight knocking out Trinidad, so he may be able to pull it off. Roy and Bernard are two senior citizens that I would not want to fuck with under any conditions.

I'll come out and say it no problem. Wright and Tarver both beat Hanshaw. The guy isn't very good. If you look at his career BTW he is a Super Middleweight not a real Light heavyweight.

I can understand your thinking ... In my opinion , the Tarver that fought Johnson beats Hanshaw. The post Johnson , even older Tarver might lose.
Winky , IMO Hanshaw bullies him and Winky's punches have zero effect on him - especially at Lt heavy. Old Winky get mauled ..
Hanshaw doesn't have to be that good. Both of these guys are old and Winky is not only old but , he is too small for Lt Heavy ...

    ....

Hanshaw is sloppy garbage. I watched him get outboxed by Ikeke (only to get a robbery win), look sloppy as hell against mendy and look less than impressive than Roy. He's not very good and he's not a real Light heavyweight.
