I was wonderin... which fighter could probably bench the most? I know Shane can bench over 400, probably has got this won P4P. But how much weight do you figure guys like Holy, Tyson, Lewis, Foreman are/were able to put up? Also which non-heavys bench alot?
Shannon Briggs is probably up there. It's also probably part of the reason he gets winded getting into the ring.......forget about the asthma excuse. He probably lifts weights INSTEAD of doing cardio.
I doubt Shane does 400. A couple of years ago it was 350 , now it has gone up another 50lbs ?? By 2010 Shane will bench 475 ..
not sure mosley's exact max on the bench, but one thing is for sure: he owns DeLaHoya whenever the two are in the same boxing ring.
So your definition of "ownage" is an SD & a gift decision ?? Thanks for letting us know. Now why know why you say such stupid things ..
my definition is getting the better of the guy everytime you square off in the ring. under the lights, sparring, amateurs.
Picture him doing the "jaw stretch" right before he's getting on the bench to lift that massive weight ...::
he won THREE times, and handled him in sparring as well. if your mother performs fellatio to completion on one random vagrant we can chalk it up as an aberration. 3 vagrants, and Id say there is a pattern forming.
:: C'mon CYC, everyone knows nobody can play stupid while you're around. You got that role down too well.
I never heard about this. Damn, that's good. I know Terry Norris used to do 350, and THAT blew me away.
How bout guys like Holy, Tyson, Foreman, Lewis, how much yall figure they can/could bench? How bout RJ, PBF?
RJ probablly SAYS he can bench 800 lbs but doesn't feel the need to prove it. And his fans take his word for it
I heard Golota benched 450. Said he could do 10 reps, got to the 9th one with no problem then stopped.
Bench press has about as much to do with boxing success as how well a guy dresses. So whoever benches the most should have spent more time doing something else. The general rules of thumb (in my experience) with benching are 1. weight (by far the most important, imo) 2. Arm length 3. Chest size and 4. Physique I suppose most important factor is whether or not the guy focuses on bench press, though. And steroid use is a big wildcard. I would go with guys like Briggs, McCline, Bruno, Tua, Rahman, Dokiwari.
