Has anyone seen this fight, or at least know anything about it (other than the result) ? Was it controversial, or did Castillejo beat him decisively?

I've never seen it, but I've read that it was a controversial decision going to Javier in his homeland.

Yep, close fight could have gone either way. Karmazin started quick then faded.

    Thanks guys.

Before the Buenema fight, I had trouble picturing how Karmazin might lose to Castillejo.

Now, it seems a lot more understandable...

Hard to claim he was underprepared when he weighed so little. He looked bad so I'd guess overtrained.

being under weight doesnt necessarily mean that he wasnt underprepared.

Didn't he dedicate the fight to two fallen Russian police officers from 9/11? Damn.

Well, when you're 5'11 1/2" and a big jm and you weigh only 151 3/4 lbs and you're fighting a scrub and you get KO'd after fading...

Explain what you mean by underprepared?

I would guess Karmazin hasn't weighed 152 lbs in a long, long time. Boxrec shows him at 152 back in 2001.

there are several ways to lose weight. just because karmazin weighed in at 151.whatever, doesnt mean that he was doing awesome in sparring or some shit. he also fought not too long ago. he probably didnt struggle much to make weight.

i could be wrong, but it's possible that he trained hard enough to lose weight. that doesnt mean that he was prepared mentally. it was obvious from the 1st round that he wasn't in there to make some sort of statement.
