When Hatton beat Castillo, Kellerman immediately shit on his moment by screaming about how shot Castillo was.

Tonight, he was doing his best to pass Klitschko off as some sort of a spurious champ, and had to be ticked off by Lampley.

Then at the end, he had to get one last dig in at Bobby Fischer, who was known for the odd anti-semitic outburst and for famous wins over Soviet-Jewish players like Boris Spassky.

Why can't this guy just shut his fucking piehole and leave his agendas to one side??

I didn't hear him, but why is he trying so hard? You are a boxing fan. Show your enthusiasm that way, not with political commentary.

He is always trying to, as I call it "turn the moment over"...in other words subtly work his agenda into the discussion. I think he should just shut up. Okay Max, you're a jew and Fisher didn't like Jews but cos he beat the Soviets he got the golden pass and you are sore about it. STFU and do your job.

...and that was after Kellerman had called it an even fight going in.

Funny how he didn't notice BEFORE the fight how "shot" Castillo was...

Am I the only one who can't understand how the hell that comment related to this fight?? I was waiting for him to tie it in somehow, but it ended with, "Fischer didn't have to worry about getting hit in the face." :dunno:

Kellerman was trying to say that by a certain point in his career Jones, like Fisher, was smart enough to know that he wasn't unbeatable and that therefore he fought only a certain level of comeptition to make himself look good.

However Max fucked it up because when he was finished it just sounded like Jones only fought gimmes and that Max was Mad {ha ha} because Fisher clowned Jews and beat their champions {Spassky}......in other words he made Jones sound bad and made Fisher out to be the chess equivalent of Jack Johnson.

    He should have just STFU.

Larry never ever tried to pass Klitschko off as some random alphabet holding chump who just happens to be in the mix at 200+

And, if he did, he would have done so in 1997. Not 2007.

Wladimir Klitschko is the consensus #1 HW on the planet, and he doesn't need to fight Peter to prove it- not when he already done beat Peter and not when Peter is rocka-rolling all over the joint vs McCline. When you throw in the fact that Wladimir won his belts in the ring and is UNIFYING next month, well then the case against Kellerman is all the stronger. He really needed to STFU on that one.

Bobby Fisher was wanted for questioning by US Authorities {but so is Obama Bin Laden} on the flimsy grounds that he played a chess game in a region that the US was sanctioning at the time. For all intents and purposes he is an American hero of the Cold War Era and handed a lot of Jews their asses in Chess games, notably Boris Spassky. Kellerman, a New York Jew { a class of people infamous for their hatred of Russian Gentiles} clearly has difficulty with this and with Fishers slighting of Jews in general, and so he needed to deal with this on HBO's time tonight.

I think Larry dismissed Klitschko as being robotic, etc., right up to the point he got an HBO contract.

Russia had a lot of anti-sematism and it has nothing to do with Russian Jews hating gentiles and everything to do with Russian jews wanting to worship and being harassed. Thats a stupid thing to say and shows an obsession with ethnic identity regarding chess.

The fact that Fischer beat a Russian Jew is irrelevant. He happened to be an antisemite who was a great chess player. But you turn the victim into the victimizer.

Your comment about Vlad and Peter are spot on by contrast. Peter is not and should not have to be a priority for Vlad. Peter will get beat by one of the other heavies any day now and as you say one can definitely make a statement to this effect based on his performance against mccline.

His knowledge of Fischer was clearly read from a facts sheet that he prepared for that garbage.

It was a good comparison on paper, but the way Fischer's career panned out and the way Roy's did were for much different.

Both were extremely talented, both got to the top of the mountain, but thats where the similarities end. Fischer's demise was about inner paranoia more than it was a lack of a desire to win. He retired after his biggest win because he felt he was being cheated by the higher ups. He came back later in life to face Spassky for money, and then went back to Iceland, the only place he felt that catered to his demands as a player (along with Cuba) and he certainly held a grudge against the US for not letting him be the head honcho.

He never lost a killer instinct in what he did, in fact Fischer's will to win made him the best player ever up to that point. Roy was great for a much different reason, much more for his talents and gifts then some personal desire to conquer the best, to crush everything put in front of him.

I liked the Max comment about how Chavez looked like he was at his best against Whitaker and not the other way around.

Whitaker was pretty far up Max's ass to begin with, but I think Max straightened out a little more of his digestive tract with that comment.

I think that Max just wants to remind us that he has an Ivy League education! People like him like showing others how smart they are.

Be like Jim Lampley, he's smart as hell, but you don't feel like he's trying to show you up.

its no different from people who complain about anyone else's commentary. Max says some absurd things regarding his favorite fighters. He's the Jim Gray of boxing, the only thing that keeps me from completely wanting him out is what happened in the James Butler thing. But even then, I don't want to hear about Roy's rock hard abs from another male anymore

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Fischer#World_Championship_Match

After twenty years, Fischer emerged from isolation to challenge Spassky (then placed 96-102 on the rating list) to a "Revenge Match of the 20th century" in 1992. This match took place in Sveti Stefan and Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia, in spite of a severe United Nations embargo that included sanctions on sporting events. Fischer demanded that the organizers bill the match as "The World Chess Championship," although Garry Kasparov was the recognized FIDE World Champion. The purse for this match was reported to be US$5,000,000 with two-thirds to go to the winner.
Fischer won the match, 10 wins to 5, with 15 draws. Many grandmasters observing the match said that Fischer was past his prime. In the book Mortal Games, Garry Kasparov is quoted: "He is playing OK. Around 2600 or 2650. It wouldn't be close between us." Fischer never played any competitive games afterwards.[63][64]
The US Department of the Treasury had warned Fischer beforehand that his participation was illegal as it violated President George H. W. Bush's Executive Order 12810[65] that implemented United Nations sanctions against engaging in economic activities in Yugoslavia.[66] In front of the international press, Fischer was filmed spitting on the US order forbidding him to play. Following the match, the department obtained an arrest warrant for him. There were examples of others who broke the embargo have not been prosecuted.[67] Fischer remained wanted by the United States government for the rest of his life and never returned to U.S. again.

Kasparov would've crucified Fischer in the 90's, but around the time fischer beat Spassky in 72 he was amazing. I highly recommend the book "Russians versus Fischer" which Chronicals Fischers career, especially his ascention during the 72 world championships, when he beat Petrosian, Tal, Spassky all in a row(all former world champions), without an army of analyzers like the soviets used.

Tal and Spassky were Jews, right? Strike 1 for Maxs pissy mood.

PS..Kasparov was an Armenian, not Russian, right?:dunno:
