ODLH to fight in Mexico on May 3?

</td></tr><tr><td style="padding-right: 20px;" bgcolor="#f5f5f5" valign="top">Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer has informed Boxingtalk that Frank Warren's Sports Network has gotten world super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe's signature on a contract to fight world light heeavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins on April 19, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The exciting news is that Hopkins-Calzaghe will not take place on HBO Pay-Per-View but instead will be a special presentation of HBO World Championship Boxing. This will allow Joe Calzaghe maximum exposure in his United States debut and reward Hopkins fans who have had to purchase most of his recent fights on pay-per-view. Schaefer will soon leave for Mexico to inspect Azteca Sadium as a possible site of Oscar De La Hoya's May 3rd fight. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST! (12:00 PM EST)</td></tr></tbody></table>

I'll be rooting for Hop all the way, but I'm definitely picking Joe by UD. I just hope its a semi-decent fight.

Surprised this fight is not pay per view.

Calzaghe via UD. Too fast and too busy for Hopkins at this point.

I'm sure it will be ppv for the brits.

still a shitty fight and its fucking up the hbo budget for decent matches this year. I'm cancelling hbo after the wire finishes.

What a crock of shit! They did it for the fans:rolleyes: . Everyone knows Slappy never came across the pond so nobody here knows him and Snaggles stinks out the joint half the time so half of the few who know him don't really care. They had no choice but to go the non PPV rout. :dunno:

Wow.What else do you want in life? You are actually complaining about Hops/Calzaghe being for free?

    I guess you'd rather have Hops/Allen IV or Calzaghe/Bika 2.:eek:ld:

I'd prefer that boring old cunt stop wasting tv dates for potentially entertaining matches. at least if its on ppv its not sucking the budget dry for other compelling bouts. when was the last entertaining hopkins fight?

I believe it was when he beat the shit out of Joppy. Pretty sure that was the last Hopkins fight I really enjoyed.

Everyone should have this approach to boxing. No matter who it is what you actually WANT to win, at least be realistic on what you think the outcome will be. Im sooo sick of these idiotic nuthuggers posting that "Pac man will destroy Wlad" type of bullshit.

I enjoyed that, and the Tarver fight. The Tarver fight wasn't especially entertaining, but I enjoyed watching B-Hop dominate and humiliate him.

    I agree.

Calazghe should realistically have too much for Hopkins. I don't think Winky is a patch on Calzaghe, not even close.

what's so special about Dawson? since when is he the man to beat at any division?

    Since he beat ADamek?

He is a nice young champion nothing more. He spent all year targeting a fight with TArver - the same Tarver Hopkins humiliated to become the man at 175.

Calzague and Hopkins are the best at 168 and 175, Dawson should wait his turn like the rest of the paper champions.

at the moment, they all are paper champions. But if you can't see the talent, its a moot point in this arguement.

Hopkins bored the living hell out of all of us in his win over Tarver. You make it sound like Hop was some dominting force over Tarver:nono: . They both put on shit performances. Hop's was just less of a shit performance.

Maybe someone should remind Hopkins he's actually in the 175-pound weight division.

The MATCHUP is Great, the Fight Itself will Likely B LESS than Scintillating...

It All Depends on Calzaghe...If he's AMPED Up by Hopkins' Shittalk, We Could Get Another Lacy-Kessler Type of STATEMENT Performance...& if that's the Case, Bernard has NO Chance of Winning:nono: ...

But for Some Reason, REED has a Feeling Calzaghe will B DISTRACTED by Fighting N the States for the 1st Time & He'll B Toooooooo RESPECTFUL to Bernard on Fightnight...

Calzaghe Wins EITHER WAY, but it'll B a CLOSER Verdict that it Should B & a Rather MUNDANE Prizefight...
