Merchant also seemed to like Pernell Whitaker as well.

 

I always found that strange. Whitaker didn't have the style or attitude that would typically endear him to someone like Merchant.

 

And he loved Derrick Jefferson.

u guys know I meant Kellerman. The only comparable bit of sickening commentary would be anything or anyone that Bob Sheridan is rooting for.

I wanna hear a broadcasting team thats fair about how they talk about fighters. The way Max was talking about the fight Roy might've lost 2 rounds

 

u know what I meant, but Hopkins/Whitaker/Mosley are proof that what he hates is that style, that arrogance that Floyd and Roy carry about themselves, without in his mind stepping up against anyone and proving it.

Larry was anti-hopkins for a long time, but has recently stepped up and given him credit as he's continued to take challenge after chalenge into his 40's.

 

I think Larry liked Hopkins at first because Hopkins is a Philly fighter. It was after the Hakkar fight where he started disliking Hopkins, and then a couple years later when he yelled at Bernard for basically calling Steward an uncle Tom.

Merchant takes cheap shots here and there about Floyd but he's pretty much always been very complimentary of him as a boxer.

 

I'm not mad at Kellerman cos he's a Jew. I'm made at Kellerman cos he thinks he runs the fucking joint. Maybe there's a connection I am missing.

 

I've never heard Sheridan do anything but get excited. I sure can't think of anytime where he was stupidly biased like Max can be.
