I think the most shocking fight of this past weekend was the Bunema Karmain bout. Though I'd only seen Bunema once before, I figured with Karmazin's size and power he'd be able to get the guy out of there at some point. I'm just curious what happened, I mean Karmazin has come up short in the past against guys in the upper tier, but is Bunema really in that class, or is his stamina just pure shit?
Roman keeps his left hand low and he doesn't move his head. Bunema had that scouted andcame in with one plan and one plan only; time the right hand and try to knock him out. It worked.
I think it was weight drain. He weighed in really low ,I think at 151. And the punches he was getting hurt with early weren't even hard blows. Funny, because he looked pretty damn good not even two months ago against Terra Garcia.
He was hit with the exact same punches against Garcia, it´s just Garcia couldn´t hurt him or stay around long enough to hurt him. I thought Karamzin was really going for the powershots in search of another impressive KO that could set him up for a big payday at age 35.
bunema is hard to look good against. from the opening round, karmazin looked like shit. i was more shocked by the fact that bunema was able to knock him the fuck out. this is the same guy who lost an ugly decision to a faded bronco mckart on espn and the same guy who made jermain taylor look like roy jones.
The way the commentators made it sound, Bunema is a guy like Glen Johnson who often took fights on short notice, didn't have proper trainers/management, and so didn't live up to his full potential until now. Supposedly (according to Bunema himself), this is the first time he's been properly focused and trained for a meaningful fight. Having said that, I'm not surehow good Bunema is and it was still a shocking knockout. Like others said, Karmazin carried his left hand low and didn't roll with shots... and it's possible he was weight drained or overtrained as well. I think the fight is a bit comparable to Sturm-Castillejo. Karmazin controlled much of the fight IMO, but didn't look spectacular or impressive... and then Karmazin seemed to fade late and Bunema ripped into him, and Karmazin just fell apart.
I never saw why people overrated the hell of Karmazin. He was always a mediocre fighter to me. Weather he was the favorite or not it does't surprise me that he lost. :dunno:
Bunema is a scrub and hopefully never sees a title fight because of beating Karmazin. Hell, I'd much rather see Karmazin in with a champ as he is a much better fighter than Bunema. Whatever reason Bunema won, it isn't because he is better than Karmazin.
unless he cheated he beat him fair and square. Karmazin already lost a tittle fight to Spinks getting outboxed. :dunno:
He didn´t lose, he was robbed in the worst decision of all time, simply based on the fact that the judges gave Spinks the 12th round.
according to freddie roach, karmazin may have struggled with the weight. he also told freddie the round before he got KOed that he had nothing left.
"outboxed him with no problem" :: It never ends here, it seems. Spinks was lucky to even last that fight out, let alone have his hand raised. He got his hand raised in that fight, via shenanigans. Without question.
yes with no problem! sure Karmazin came to fight and was competitive. Your right for that alone let's put him in the hall of fame, my bad  that dude is fucking mediocre, was is and will be. opcorn:
I'm not, nor have I, argued otherwise. All I said was that there is NO WAY that Spinks won easily, comfortably, schooled...or whatever else it was you said. He had his decision bought for him and it was obvious. As for Karmazin? He's a decent fighter who's been able to be competetive at the world level. Nothing more, nothing less.
I'm not sure, I don't remember. I just know that I was surprised at how close it was, considering how many people thought Spinks won comfortably. (I did not see it live)
Bunema's NOT a Bad Fighter @ All... For the Past 10 Years, he's Been JUST BELOW Elite Status @ Jr. Middleweight... He's had Contractual Issues w/Curtis Cokes which Kept him OUT of the Ring for a Couple Years & then He CASHED OUT by Fighting Jermain Taylor N Arkansas... While REED FAVORED Karmazin, it Wasn't Terribly Surprising that Alex BEAT him...Granted, REED NEVER Would've Expected Alex to KO Karmazin, but the Fact that he Beat him Isn't Shocking... REED
